Hi, i just updated the StreamByter wiki page with a categorized table of the available scripts and added some more links to the 'Additional Info' section.

Great addition to the Wiki in the "MIDI Scripting" TAG category.

    thank you.

Today was my StreamByter premiere. Just one or two lines of script to isolate MIDI channels in an Audiobus project. A single instance of Mass (bouncing balls sequencer app) sending notes to 3 different synths, each one receiving on only one MIDI channel. In Mass, the bouncing balls are set to different channels. Finally one track for live playing a 4th synth with a MIDI controller. I chose Audiobus because it can be synced to MIDI clock. A nice setup. Start/stop and clock control from the controller (Intuitive Instruments Exquis), as well as 4 CC’s and arpeggiator, and the intuitive GUI of Mass on the screen. Besides, I can recommend Exquis. A versatile and easy to use controller in a small package, perfect for outdoor music with iPad.

It took me about 2 hours to find a MIDI filter. First I found StreamByter in my library, but I’ve never used it. In the app store there is one filter that does exactly that, but for only 3 bucks more I would get Mozaic. Searched Mozaic Patchstorage for such a filter. Read forum posts here, and found this StreamByter discussion.

@Phil999 Yeah, StreamByter is a nice and free option for many simple midi conversion tasks, but the list also contains links to several more complex scripts. SB even offer UI options with sliders and buttons.

I often use SB as a reliable midi monitor, using the block comands to ‚filter‘ the output

On a related note: mfxMonitor is a handy and free implementation of the monitor part of Streambyter. It's slightly more convenient.

  • no doubt StreamByter is very versatile.

For MIDI monitor I switched to ShowMIDI. I shows relevant values, which makes monitoring easier.
