I am pleased to hear that :)

  • iLep just got an update!

The update comes with several bugfixes and improvements and 3 Sets by Swiss composer Thomas Kessler.

The 3 new iLep Sets by Thomas Kessler were written for his composition BERCEUSE (2018). They were originally designed to be played with an acoustic instrument or voice, but of course any audio source will work with them.

Here is a video which is quickly introducing one Set:

    Gee, thanks! :)

  • Have to spend time with this app because at first sights it’s overwhelming!

It looks different, but it is one of the best UI or live playing.
It uses a simple to understand Matrix to route stuff, and all the parameters are visible on one screen for all the tweaking you need.
Only took me about 5 minutes to find my way around. It just looks complicated initially.

Is it the playing live aspect that differentiates this then? Or do you think it does anything sonically different over other multi FX?

I think the optimized live performance aspect was the main idea behind it initially. I plan on trying it with the various real instruments I have.
But what hooked me in was the weird set of FX offered in this. Nothing really new amongst the choices, but as a set I find them fairly unique. The demos, as usual, show off the more extreme sounds. Those are interesting, but I am seeing if it has good subtlety as well, as I don’t find it practical to only use extreme FX on everything.

I already have tons of FX, and $10 was a bit high to just get something to experiment with.
$5 seemed low enough for me, so I took a chance. I have faith in the developer, so that always helps ease the purchase.

Thanks. I think this vid is a good example of how cool this app can be live. It also makes me think it’s not necessarily for me so will watch and appreciate this time.

I'm very much tempted by this... although it doesn't look like it's really "for me" since I'm not looking for live effect for acoustic instruments, etc.

However, the more I watch these demos and the presets... it seems like this is potentially a very useful, unique and interesting fx app for those of us who merely meddle with interesting sound design arrangements.

I looks as if you can have multiple grid setups that can be time set to change from one to the next... and that you can set the modulation to trigger other sample clips based on the range you set for the modulation. Is this correct?

Also, in one of the videos... the in-app help/tutorial appears to be in German (I think), but is it also in English?

Not going to pretend I understand this app at all, but it looks like it's fairly easy to get started with... but can also go fairly deep with all the possible combinations, modulation, and auto-cue changes. Looks like it's a very difficult app to describe accurately as well. Intrigued for sure.

Never mind. I bought it. My speculations were correct. It’s unique, easy to get started, but can get very complex if you want. It sounds great, and it’s definitely useful for non-live non-acoustic application. And yes, the in-app tutorial is in English.

So far, glad I purchased. :)

Not sure if this $5 price is a sale, or the new regular price... but this is easily worth the original $10. If they could make it AU, it'd be a solid $13-$15 app.

It's quirky to get the hang of, but there's lots of great potential fx use for any kind of input here. If this thing went AU with the parameters exposed to LFO automate in matrix, it'd be insane. :)

It's the kind of app that once you figure it out... you kinda want to keep it to yourself ;) but at the same time you want it to get adopted so that the dev continues working on it.

There's supposed to be a way to use a sample you've imported in for Pitch Control and set it up so that when a certain parameter is reached (like a frequency level or db, etc.) that triggers and loops a sound sample you've imported and assigned to the patch.

I haven't quite figured that out yet, and it's not mentioned in the in-app guide/tutorial.. yet, it appears that it's possible. I've got close I think, but not quite.

Has anyone else who has this app done this? If so, how did you go about it? Thanks

  • Hey, did anyone else here buy this app and understand it completely? I’ve been playing with it for a couple days now and although I’m still somewhat baffled... there is some spectacularly bizarre genius stuff going on here... the more I dig. The in-app tutorial is pretty sparse and although a couple of the videos are helpful, I wish this one could get a full demo video tutorial treatment.

I’ve made enough headway on my own to convince me there’s all kinds of magnificent weirdness this thing is capable of... just wish I could grok it a bit better.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s loads of cool stuff you can do and easily figure out on your own within the first half hour, but getting deeper into this beast’s underbelly of potentially whack routing and modulation combinations is what I’m pining for.
