  • Interesting...

  • neat GUI design, looks functional

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Before I pull the trigger and purchase it, how does it compare to NY Compressor and Rough Rider and the like? Will it add another "flavour" of compression to my toolbox?

  • Maybe Doug @thesoundtestroom will help us out. :)

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Does it do sidechain compression? Every desktop daw does this. Caustic on iOS does has one..

We need it as AUv3 plugin.. why does it take so long?

  • On iOS there’s no side chain, no presets. Is this worded wrong?

I can’t find any contact details to ask for a code, anyone have an email for the dev?

  • hi there,
I am the developer of Woodpressor.
Is there a need for the classic side chain input as found on DAW's ?
If so, can you tell me which host apps allow to set the side chain input ?
    tnx !

None, as far as I'm aware.

  • As reported elsewhere n-Track 9 Pro is now supporting sidechaining via AUv3. Kudos to them!

So has anyone picked this compressor up? How is the tube distort on beats?

  • @woodman congrats on the launch! Nice to see you here and appreciate the codes you dished out on FB. Not this time... I will just have to buy it then!

Sidechain-ing can be achieved with Auria Pro. (or it’s version of).

    (AUv3..?)

Haven’t been able to do 'any' kind of testing in Auria with Pro-Q 2 (AUv3), as the AppStore version of AP doesn’t load Q2.. but the next update will.

If it’s not possible to send audio to an AU's sidechain input, yet, I think it might be - or it should be 'we hope' (don’t quote me) with the next AP update ... or two. 🤞🏼

We'll see, whenever that may be..

  • hi there,
I just released Woodpressor 1.1 which now has user presets AND side chain support !

As most AUv3 hosts don't have a side chain mechanism, Woodpressor now has it's own : insert a Woodpressor on the side chain track and put it in "side chain send" mode, insert a Woodpressor on the track needing compression and put it in "side chain receive" mode. Up to 8 side chain channels can be selected. Multiple Woodpressor receive side chains can listen to the same send side chain.

  • Great. Will be buying this very soon :)

Sounds innovative! I shall try this out

Very cool. I can’t wait to play with this.

@woodman do you develop audio apps for desktop also?

That's a pretty nice and quick workaround. Credit deserved for that.

  • I’m really enjoying this app. Have been playing with the non-linear release on DrumPerfect Pro drums and it really gives them some snap. The tube distortion seems smooth as well. I have a feeling that this is a quality player. I would love to hear what some of our more seasoned studio heads make of it? (CC @Tarekith @Telefunky @jakoB_haQ etc.).

Nice little manual as well https://www.woodmansimmaculatemaplesyrupstudio.be/woodpressor/WoodpressorHelp.pdf

@woodman it would be a real treat if you were able to create some presets for this app for different scenarios that the lesser experienced among us could then tweak. Thx!

    @woodman

I bought the app today for the sidechain feature. I’ve tried it in Cubasis but:

    • sidechaining doesn’t seem to work. I use the plugin in send mode on a kickdrum track, and the plugin in receive mode on a pad sound on the other track.
    • The UI is VERY small. The ‘mode’ pulldownmenu and ‘channel’ pulldownmenu is allmost impossible to use... The plugin just scales the fullscreen version to the 50% screen size for plugins in Cubasis...

    I’m using an iPad 2017 and OS v 11.3

ah! thanks for the info SlowwFloww. I would be ok with scrollable full Ui in cubasis and of course the sidechain needs to work there too .. so I will wait it out until mr Woodman clarifies that fixes are coming.. I’m guessing it isn’t an easy thing to implement, otherwise why would we have been waiting so long for this on ios :)

  • This is the sidechain in AUM:

  • @gusgranite - thanks so much for this. Took me awhile to realize that the transport button needed to be pressed for this to activate.
