Nice would be a good match along with the UNO.
Waiting for Drum Brute sampler
The only 'Digital Stuff' from Arturia will be software
Pretty nice sounding (imho a more cohesive set of sounds than the original Drumbrute).
At $350.00 usd it seems more realistic to me. The DrumBrute looks fabulous but I just couldn't justify that price, personally. I'll bet they sell like tic tacs!
Arturia is on fire.
I just want a LinnDrum. Are there any hardware drum machines that approximate it today? They all seem too geared towards 'electronic' music genres.
I know the Linn was sample based, so please don't tell me to just get a sampler and a sample pack. I just wanna know if there are any 'classic' style drum machines out there, with killer kick, snare and hihat sounds.
Funny 😆 I just was sent this about five mins ago

Actually a Linn drum clone is supposed to be released by behringer next year with 16 outputs.
Drum brute sounds muddy to me.
Not sure what you're looking for, but 707/727 kits on the Roland TR-8 are brill. They have the typical 12 bit crunch that sets them apart from 'contemporary' sample based drum machines and samplers.
I ordered one, they’ll be in stock August 8th here. Not that I need moar drums, but having a more old school analog drum machine, with distortion(s) onboard and Arturias sequencer seems...like fun? I didn’t like the sound of the first Drumbrute with all the weird blips and blops. Darcy from Arturia said things like distortion and compressor where cut out to reach a certain price point. Though it does have individual outs, having dist/comp onboard would’ve helped with the weird noises coming out of that thing. Anyway the Impact seems to rectify a lot of this, the various sounds also seems more coherent across the board, smaller form-factor is a plus as well. Price is on point.
Better sounding than the original DrumBrute, mainly because of the FM and te distortion I guess. Another well sounding one is the Tanzmaus bij MFB which has 2 12 bit samples sections.
I don’t need this, or any hardware really (since iOS covers pretty much anything I would need and could be set up to use with a physical controller), but I am interested nonetheless. Love the FM drum and distortion. The size is smaller than the original but still not exactly “compact”. And if it’s like the MicroBrute and needs a wall adapter, I do wish it was just a bit more portable. Pricing seems fair and I think it will sound great. To be continued...
@oat_phipps not on IOS, but sounds brilliant :

For the drum brute impact, really nice indeed...I keep on tweaking Ruismaker + RuisFM with an Arturia BeatStep...Probably not as versatile but lot cheaper and easier to carry/plug...If it does not crash of course...
I have the vlinn and is indeed a perfect mimic. My only problem is I don't ever use desktop and only had the reaper tools to sequence with. Any suggestions for a PC drum sequencer that works well in Reaper? Something that's less clunky than the bare bones tools the DAW comes with?
I love the looks of this. The first Drumbrute seemed wicked but a tad too large, but the sound really got me. I’ll probably end up with one of these in 8 - 10 years when they are used and cheap.
Not that I can afford it ( rent and bills ) but wondering if a drumbrute impact to a zoom u44 for multi inputs to effects to an iphone, layered with a volca drum might be better than another ipad with elastic drums ( full screen ) but obviously useful for other app combos ( swam cpus etc )
Theres a korg drumlogue soon. Maybe looking for best way to add kicks ( sometimes its lost on volca drum ) on the fly and for live jams with apps, with midi controllers.
Elastic drums gets on my nerves how the menu just closes. You got no time to change the sounds. Sb drum sequencer is annoying. What ios drums are there?
Spent about £100 on ios drums. Maybe its just me but ios drums arnt great but havent really practiced. They all have advanced features but dont get the basics. Will try sb drum. Elastic drums. eg pulse. Drambo. Grooverider. Elastic drums are good but I will post to show why I cant use it well. The menu thing just disappears before changing sound. Then trying to switch of automation is a nightmare. Drambo is good for p lock sounds. sb drum is good for tones but sequencer chasing is annoying. Always not getting on with ios sequencers. Does the impact solve the basic concept of drums on the fly? Or does it then mean you are always on the inpact also because it dosent have automation? Needs to work with the multi out though. Not sure how the 4 outputs are/how many sounds via each output but would layer with a volca drums automation and hoping the stutter across both sounds good. Dont like the impact needs 2 hands for rolls. All ios drum machines are still good when you already have a groove or record but getting going spontaneous isnt as good as hardware.
Elastic drums would be better maybe but cant deal with these problems.
Is there a way for the menu to stop bugging me out and an easy way to clear automation?
Thanks
The problem is. Drambo is so good. Its denial. Now all these midi controllers lol.
Im thinking if you strictly use Drambo to make advanced tracks ( ie not going mad about what button to press etc ) Your best bet is a couple volca modulars or similar, if you must.
Video unavailable?
Looove the Volca Modular. Hope there’s a version 2 or an expanded unit.
Dont worry man. Its just another stupid video. Volca modular is cool and through ios effects. Think it might be cool for when you are tied to the grid also and need to feel like tweaking hardware ( without wondering much about composition maybe )
What might a 2nd volca add? I think they can be crossed patched ( but havent made many patches )
The digital Pluto?
Audio input, new oscillator (wavetable perhaps), better connectivity with Eurorack, MS-20 filter, Monotron delay. Just spitballing.
That looks interesting. If I have to buy a second desk to house all my tiny music machines my wife will first make fun of me and then poison my cornflakes.
