BeatMaker 3 receiving MIDI or Audio within AudioBus?

It’s just the BeatMaker 3 port not working. Never did and haven’t understood why it’s there . Can’t even route it to a bank midi input.
If you have Midiflow or similar app that can create virtual port it will work .
But once BM3 is updated you could run Rozeta inside BM3. (I still haven’t updated Rozeta to keep it compatible with BM3)
On other hosts choose BM3 virtual midi , since IAA midi is broken (just figured it)
Also on bank settings make sure “All” ports is selected .(edit:like you already have ).
As Intua are playing with the idea of a new name for BM3 you want to pass your new name suggestion on to them (Beakmaker
)
Just posting what 5pinlink said on the BM3 forum as it might help here:
“MIDI from other apps can be sent
Globally via focus (Whatever is focused receives all MIDI)
Per input/per channel/per bank
Per input/per channel/per pad
And any combination of the three above.”
It’s from a thread I made in BM3 ,but it seems that the poster didn’t understand my post
Brilliant name! It would also stick out much more from the crowd of beat making apps. Could also be a photo app where you could add beaks of all sorts and sizes to your face.
Right. Thanks for clarifying.
Just read this thread and the one at the BM3 forum, you didn't even ask this question, you just said BM3's MIDI input doesn't work, its a bug, which is not accurate at all.
BM3 has never worked as a Receiver in AB3, it is not a bug, it just hasn't been implemented.
It’s a bug since it doesn’t work as expected.
As I mentioned in the other forum
BeatMaker’s port should be selectable on Bank / pad midi input menu .
On other hosts BeatMaker should be a generator using virtual midi port , not instrument.
That would also fix midi working inside AB3 ,plus on other hosts only the working virtual midi would show ...
Why not hosting your synths inside BM3?
I think you should stick to AB3/Cubasis combo to rec audio/midi and then export to BM3.
It seems easier
@tja is drag and drop audio from the files app an advertised feature in BM3? If not it’s a feature request rather than a bug. It is possible that audio needs to be imported before you can drag and drop into the timeline.
@tja
Hi
Instead of using the midiflow adapter, use AUM app to connect AB3 to BM3, like this
Audiobus preset 'AB3 AUM BM3': http://preset.audiob.us/gPbhlrvnbMgxidN
