At the risk of being really simplistic:
A tip for multi-tracking in AUM-Have all your channels going into a mixbus and then record the mix and the stems. This means you can edit/tweak the stems if you want to but also you have the instant gratification of a mix.
I ave been doing this with my kids this summer-a Circuit, A bass station 2 and a reface DX. Lots of fun.

Oh and don't forget to arm each channel and press record. Each time, Every time!

Audiobus 3.1 is out now, with support for AU MIDI and fullscreen AUs. Perhaps an interesting moment to (re)evaluate where this excellent tool can fit inside our workflows :D

Really interested in AB3 again now. A few stability tweaks and I think it’s back in my setup :)

Interested what people use audiobus for now? I bought and used it when I first got an iPad then I sold that iPad and since using iOS again now a few years later, I’ve installed and kept it on my iPad but never had need to open it? What am I missing out on? Be cool to hear some perks/use cases?

I suppose it is most useful for people who don't want to deal with (or haven't yet learned) the complexities of MIDI, as it makes MIDI routing as simple as its audio routing (i.e. it hides the concept of MIDI Channels, etc.). It has a few other tricks up its sleeves, but - yeah - it's mainly another tool in the toolbag.

Obviously it has other perks, such as state-saving for Audiobus compatible apps which haven't become AUv3 yet and Audiobus Remote control.

  • Audiobus 3.1 is also super fast (really!!!!!!) to load presets with various AU and IAA.

Thanks. Sounds like it’s probably extraneous for me for time being as I mostly use apps in AUM/BM3 or individually as standalone atm. Though I’m curious what Audiobus Remote control is?

    It's pretty nifty! :)

  • and doesn't ignore IOS 9 user out there... B) :+1:

  • AB3 was a no go for myself because it ignored AU Midi. Now it has those plus the wonderful MF Keyboard app, it’s back in the fold. It matches well with AUM.
