Also, PPG apps are limited to 16bit samples. Nearly all sample packs come in 24bit (as are my own cuts) so this is a very frustrating restriction. Scythe can import 24bit samples.
One or Two thumbs up for the waveform editor IAP?
What about the delay? I’ve already got so many delays, that one seems likely redundant.
I was thinking the same but got it anyway lol. The filters and delays are actually pretty cool with feedback and panning and the like.
The developer also has a new Twitter account https://mobile.twitter.com/BitmaskStudio
So, you can drag the LFOs over to effect the delays?
No, I don’t think there’s any drag and drop. Just the modulations you see on screen.
Have you tried? In the main interface... you can simply drag the little colored chain link icon in the LFO and Envelope panels... up to each of the parameter dials to modulate. After you drag/drop the chain link icon, the dial changes to the color of the chain link icon. I bet it works the same for the delay filter parameter dials too. Could you confirm? Or, I suppose I could as the dev on his twitter, but I think he's in a much different time zone.
Yes, I tried but I don’t think it did anything. Maybe I’m doing it wrong.
Ok. Thanks
I think the dev has Serum in his sights, Wavetable editor, drag and drop modulators...
Scythe Synth for $6 is outrageous. But after getting it I needed 2 things:
FX... so I got several to smooth out the edges and send some sound to the void.
More wavetables to get more tone in the output.
So, today I added the Tones Pack $0.99 and the FX pack $2.99.
So perfect for a controlled wavetable synth product from a solo developer. Gotta support this effort and send the message... don't give up!
I also got the wavetable editor and I realized pure waves (sine, saw, triangle) with LFO/FX can still show us the view from the stars. It just sounds so good you will just keep playing with the knobs to understand what they can do.
A very powerful but still easy to consume synth. Get it now.
Bought the wave table editor. It's not much use at the moment because it only really allows to set a waveform for a single step or a range. This will get you so far but would be extremely laborious to attemp to create a smoothly evolving sound such as a filter sweep style effect. Needs morphing and other ways to affect the waveform shapes. Would also be nice if the sort only affected the cycles within the range.
To summarise, the wavetable editor is an exciting prospect but needs more development to be truly useful.
Am I right that there is no filter in Scythe? Wavetables are great but I think you need to combine them with a filter as well (as in Synthmaster One).
Yeah right now you need it in AUMs chain to add some more filter love
Scythe just got another excellent update (v1.6). You can now point a sequencer at the synth and preview the new wavetables you are creating in real time. Very cool. There’s also a new waves pack IAP which I have purchased to further support this wicked dev. This synth is turning into a bit of a beast.
Oh thats confusing...not to be confused with ‘Scythe’
Yes, bit confusing, this is the newer wavetable synth called Scythe. It’s very good.

I need to study the manual. It's all a bit gritty and Vogons flying overhead at this point....
I think the power is in the movement/modulation and creating unique morphing wave tables. Nothing else like it in iOS I think.
We need a highly technical video run through!
YES WE DO! Job for @MarkH I think
so can you edit samples you ha e imported, or is it just for drawing new waveforms?
You can edit the samples you have imported. Take note Korg!
With the latest update where you can override each OSC and hear/preview the sample you're editing with the waveform creator IAP module... it's much more powerful.
Although, the more I play with this sort of stuff.. the more I appreciate the art that goes into creating those sample packs. It's not easy making wavetables that sound interesting. I mostly end up with sounds similar to screeching 3-headed underworld hyenas that have just been set on fire. In other words... not that musical. LOL
It is really cool to have a go at sculpting out your own.
very very cool. how
about the delay iap is it worth purchasing too?
The delay iap needs another update. At the moment there only is delay-sound, when note-on is activ. A bug, the developer is informed.
But playing around with decay and release, the delay could be nice right now.
can anybody put up a quick video of the new in app purchases? i’m very interested in this
I’d love to hear some examples of what people have created with the IAPs. I really enjoy, the unique sounds that I can create with the app without the IAPs and wonder how much the IAPs offer.
The developer would do him/herself a huge favor by posting some quick video or audio demos of what they offer.
I’m keen to know how many presets in the IAPs - does anyone know? Not much info the app
thanks
agreed! I had kind of forgotten it. So i started playing with it again, and really like it, and i’m very excited to see how the editor factors in.
The IAP packs include wavetables not presets. Per pack (alien, dark, ambient) around 70 wavetables.
