  • He was a well known wrestler when I was a kid sixty years ago @LeonKowalski. It would have possibly been funny if you were as old as I am! Sorry, lame attempt at humor.

People get old too, so that's a very natural thing :)
Welcome and have fun making new music!

Spent the past week doing yardwork, so feel old. Also ignored my family all day -they said my behavior was getting old.

Yes, welcome @ocelot! You arrive at a most interesting time. You can read a bit of everything discussed now. And it shows the uktidimensionak aspect of this marvelous place.

UKTI as in the multidimensional diversity of UK Trade & Investment?

    Thanks for the warm welcomes.

I suppose it's still proper etiquette to respond to people that mention (@) others? I participated in music forums many years ago but it has changed since then. I'm out of the loop. Either way, looking forward to investment talk.

I never noticed this thread before.

Well, I‘ve made a habit of never ever posting personal information or data anywhere on the internet. But because this seems to be a great place, at least there are four things I can say:
    1. I am a nice person (ask my wife)
    2. I am a very boring person (ask my wife)
    3. I‘m too old for this (ask, well, you know...)
    4. My real name is not Leon

    Cheers, LK

Haha - excellent. More or less same here on all counts except I’m probably even more boring. Also I’m not nice on Monday mornings but hey ;)

Well, you know what, of course I googled him (duckducked him, to be precise...), and I think it‘s a great character to use. „Killer Kowalski“... yup, sounds good. 👍

Btw, agewise, I‘m not too far behind you, maybe I could have known him if I had lived in America.

  • @TheOriginalPaulB I’ll chime in: I stay with the AB forum because there is a plethora of useful info that can be had from many forum members - my iOS music needs are fairly simple, since I use GB primarily along with a couple of other ‘soundbank’ apps through AB, yet once in a while I need some other kind of advice, and this forum can deliver! I have no notion of ever leaving the forum.

@LeonKowalski ... You couldn't be "Killer" Kowalski, could you?

Nope, sorry. Actually, I have no idea who that is.

Check with Roy Batty, maybe he knows. 😜

That’s fair enough, but for a while, those benefits were not happening for me and I was not able to contribute much either. I was unaware at the time that I would be able to buy a new device, so I figured it was time to leave. All things have their time. I’m happy to be back, at least for now.

  • I'm a man of modest means and questionable taste.

Stay with it: This is the best forum I’ve been a member of that didn’t run me off with their tyrannical responses to queries. I don’t contribute a lot but when I do someone takes up the mantle and tries to be helpful!

  • I’m a pro jazz drummer. Ex comedian, composer .. Some piano and I’ve even been known to rap a little. (I have a major credit as a rapper w Red Rodney who replaced Miles Davis in the Charlie Parker quintet .. I’m one of the senior members here at 66. I truly love this forum and soon hope to be collaborating with one of the more illustratious fellows on here . Clue: His handle begins with a “B”. Through the wonder of music I was cognisant of your obscure cultural reference ...

@paul16, sorry could not open your video, but sounds like a pretty arcane connection. There was also Haystacks Calhoun. Often he and Killer would go at it.

@LeonKowalski Everything is on YouTube! Here the legendary Bruno Sammartino and Waldek "Killer" Kowalski. Surreal gladiators of the fifties. Too bad it isn't you, I know.

  • I am just some random dork.

it’s an early BÖC ( aka The Soft White Underbelly / Stalk Forrest Group ) track in which he gets a mention - ‘Donovan’s Monkey’ by The Stalk Forrest Group on youtube
