The only time Waveform crashes on me, and that's pretty much never now with v9 (v8 was another story), is plugin scanning. Maybe I'm not "stress testing" it. I've been using T2, T5, T6, T7, W8, and now W9. I recommend avoiding even numbers But the odd ones work better for me. I mostly use it on Windows, where it's known to be more stable than Mac. That said, I've never had it crash on my Mac, either, but I don't use it on the MacBook too often.
$25 is a STEAL for Waveform 9 (I paid the regular upgrade price).
@vitocorleone123 : How would you say you spend most of your time? Waveform or iOS?
The complaints are from yesterday, Waveform/Tracktion has a long history of very overly zealous fans.
The complaints are also in the company forum, and whenever anybody brings them up they get treated very very badly, consequently Tracktion now has a terrible reputation.
Keep in mind here, I was one of the very first users of Tracktion, I am all for Tracktion, just pointing out the facts here.
Have you updated to 9.2?
Yes i always keep current, but it is not my main or even secondary DAW anymore, I update, test heavily and hope that one day it becomes more stable, unfortunately they have very little market share, so new releases means new features, not stability.
Hmmm..Have you tried Mixcraft? It does Video, notation and thousands of acidized loops. And cheap too
@Turntablist : With all due respect have you EVER seen a DAW forum that isn’t fraught with crashing complaints?
These days: iOS. Though the last song I finished was purely in Waveform because Gadget was feeling constrained, and the current one I'm struggling to finish is actually created in Gadget - but then I'm trying to add guitar loops in Waveform on top of it, and then going back to iOS to tweak the song, etc. An experiment.
Waveform 9 is basically a stable, more feature complete Waveform 8. At least for me. Remember that people who comment on the Internet, only as a general rule, are typically people who have problems with something, followed by people who totally love the new shiny thing they just got. Vast majority are in between.
The main thing Waveform does NOT do well is latency compensation for hardware sends.
The devs are often active on the KVR Tracktion forum.
Does the Labor18 code work for anyone else? Says it's not valid when I try.
Edit: it's LABOR2018
Time for me to move on, no problem, enjoy your purchase.
Is there any DAW that does not crash, point me to one. Look at Pro Tools, a big name DAW that people reporting of crashes. Ableton at times. For me to date I haven’t had any crashes.
Keeping my fingers crossed
Reason. Never crashed on me yet.
no no don't go, tell me about your turntablism firrrrrrrrrrrst!
See attached, stumbled on the use of chord track in Waveform 9, thought you might like to see it.
