Same here brother.
Trying something a little left of field...and am pretty happy with the results:
Happy Weekend everyone!

@echoopera I’m really impressed with what you’ve been doing and how quickly you’re getting it done. It really seems as if the workflow design and this synth’s design in general makes it a quick and inspiring app to get a lot done in a shorter amount of time. As much as I love Gadget, that’s one thing it seems to lack.
Thanks for enjoying it.
Yeah, there’s something oddly rewarding and addictive about this app...i just find it fun to explore and experiment with. I am hoping for a few improvements down the road, but as it is right now, it’s pretty sweet.
I was watching this earlier and it really opened my eyes to what this synth is capable of. I’m really liking what I’m hearing.
Oddly rewarding and addicting is something I usually don’t see many people describe about any particular app that I’ve read about here. So I’m glad to read that because I’ve been trying to find that for the past 6 years since I got into the realm of iOS apps. There’s always something missing in either the sounds or the workflow itself and I can never find the best of both worlds. I’m really glad to know that you’re this satisfied with it even in it’s current state. Given the fact that there’s 8 synth parts and I can use some of them to make drum sounds, I might actually be able to look past the fact that there’s no sample importing... and if they add that feature in a future update, it’ll be the icing on the cake. I’m really starting to lean even more towards purchasing tonight.
What makes this more interesting than Gadget is the tabbed interface. I’m Gadget we’re stuck with a primitive back button and animations. Getting from one scene to another inside a piano roll to edit a note or something feels like so much work sometimes.
Could be nice to transpose to scale/key here... GrooveBox has it..
....harmonically succulent.....
Such filth.
I can definitely agree with you on that. All those things about Gadget really does slow me down and it drains away all the inspiration. I feel the same way about Cubasis as well. Neither of them are fluid enough for me to get anything accomplished and I’ve gone back and forth with both apps within the past 4 years with nothing to show for it.
I’m getting closer and closer to buying this app. You’re all doing a really good job convincing me that this could be that desert island app that I’ve been looking for. But I’m also curious about whether it’s still comfortable to use on a Mini 2 without the need for a pencil or a magnifying glass. On Doug’s @thesoundtestroom video, is he using a Mini?
I have an older iPad mini. Let me load it up and see how it performs.
I just thought of another important question. How well does it do regarding battery consumption? I’m really hoping it’s not a pig like Gadget. I’m already experiencing a significant battery drain from iOS 11 and combined with Gadget, it’s been really bad.
No problem with draining the battery just the clicky envelopes on all voice modes.
Thanks. Looking forward to finding out. Some apps are just too much for the screen size of the Mini. I wish I would’ve thought to ask the same thing about Cyclop and Egoist when they were released.
Thanks for confirming that. As for the envelopes clicking, I guess it’s safe to assume it’ll get fixed.
I hope so because everything else is really good. The problem how the app uses DSP so I don’t know how easy it is to fix...
Which model iPad are you using? I have a Mini 2 and it’s compatible according to Korg. But I don’t know if I’m really gonna run into any issues or not.
I have a iPad Pro 9’7 2017 model
I’m wondering if it’s got anything to do with that particular processor. I’ve read many complaints about it in the past with other apps. Is anyone else here experiencing the same envelope problem?
Only a few people have posted this issue on this forum, some people don’t seem to be bothered by it I guess. For me I can’t use it in a track with clicking, that doesn’t make any sense. You are right in mentioning the iOS issue on some iPad’s as I have also heard about this but I don’t believe it is related to this issue.
I’ll have to find out more. Is this only happening with bass sounds?
Clicking is loudest on mono 2 mode but it is noticeable on mono 1 and poly mode. Usually this type of issue occurs when you have low polyphony which is 4 voices per part on EW so I was surprised to experience it on mono modes also. Like you said not many have mentioned it so I’m also a bit confused. Anyway I will wait a while longer hoping for an update as I love everything else about this app.
Thanks for the info. I’m gonna pay more attention to the issue and see what others are experiencing too.
Cool, keep me posted if you find any new info.
Hi, my name is Marc and I have a full tutorial on my new youtube channel and I'm giving away 50 free custom synth presets for it, since korg only offers a handful of presets that come with the app. I'm trying to get some new subscribers, but a thumbs up will do too, then just send me a message and I'll send you the free presets. I'm going to post a video tonight showing off the free presets.

I aslo made a track using only electribe wave that's up at:
If you have any ideas for a full tutorial that hasn't been done or not thoroughly enough, please let me know. I promise I won't spam the crap out of you all here...I just want to initially let people know my channel now exists!

I guess the presets come with patterns? Not a bad idea. Interesting use of AR as well, though the other visuals seem a bit seizure inducing.

Re the battery, I imagine if you had all8 synths running with a lot of polyphony and effects you’d take a performance hit.
I’ve been holding off jumping in (the thread) till now.
I jumped into the app immediately. Full disclosure, for me de-fence is not in place where korg boxes are concerned. I have a bias dating from the first iElectribe which I’ve kept in play since 2010 I think.
My bias served me well here because this one is a gas, mostly because of the wide open sound design possibilities. Seriously. And as was mentioned above the sound design is fun, the things i want to goof around with are there and stuff I wouldn’t have known I’d want is there also. It doesn’t hurt that the utilities for song mode and pattern are smart and pretty transparent.
Agree. The key word here is fun. I could do with a few simple things, copy and pasting patterns in the song mode and at least the choice to open on the last used set-up etc, but if'n Korg never get around to it, I'm still happy and will be. I was thinking I'd need/want some more presets, but am finding I'm making plenty (which doesn't mean I wouldn't like to get my hands on some by the talented people who share their wares around here....
)...
Maybe we won’t see many more IAPs for Gadget as it’s already huge. Korg can put their attention on the Electribe soundpacks just as Novation Retronyms and now Propellerheads have done, which would be fine.
So many of these features deserve to be in Gadget however. Combining the transport and the song loader into one accessible area rather than the boring looking file menu and wasted screen economy of the empty transport at the bottom in Gadget. That’s a no brainer fix there. Files support absolutely. The combined keyboard and assignable chord pads would be nice as well. Shrink down the size of the cells in the song arranger and make a full screen mixer... that would be really exciting to see.
