"Korg Electribe Wave in Gadget" Upvotes Needed

So indeed, the first thread Korg got in their Electribe Wave help section is my request for Gadget compatibility. Please send over your upvotes so this can become a reality.

Hilarious business choice to release without Gadget support in the first place.

  • They need to make it iPhone compatible to get it properly into Gadget, so I'm in!

  • +1 Done!

For me it would be enough to have the 'synth' as a Gadget and all the other sounds available as PCM waves and naturally option to import user samples & wavetables.

I'm still curious as to what features had to be left out for the initial release and when we can expect them to be in the app :)

Ha yeah. I got excited cause most of their apps are universal. My iPad is too old to run it

  • Yes, a wavetable synth Gadget would be a nice addition.

  • OK Jim, done! Cheers, Elektrik Diva

  • Done. I had to register an account but found it sad that the Korg forum is so quiet...

  • Korg don’t care

  • Okay I’ll give my upvote...I don’t own it yet but why not vote :)

I think it's harsh to say korg don't care. They gave us analogue and at a cheap price when everyone was screaming for it. They risked making iOS music software and most of it is pretty cool. They are a Japanese company and things are done a little differently. I lived in Japan for a while so I have talked to the dudes there about the communication (awesome country!)

Saying that let's just all added our comments to this link given an see what happens. Also Tough talking will get you nowhere with the company. Politeness is important.

I'm just saying that it not about caring, this company has always made cheap products the best they can. The MS20 was a cheap product for its time. My poly 61 is ghetto in terms of quality for the time. The EW is good but lacking stuff I agree. Just best to add polite requirements on the mentioned link. There is nothing more we can do in this particular case.

  • I agree with @Samu...no point having the whole thing as a gadget, just add the synth....gadget is already a very well spec'd groovebox, you don't need a groovebox inside a groovebox ?

I'd prefer them to spend time adding things like Wavetable import..after they address issues being raised with things like envelopes not returning to 0 and causing clicks ;)

I'm not working on Electribe much, so I can't really say what the plan is exactly. We've definitely talked about Gadgetizing, but that's pretty much the extent of my knowledge

Hi Davis thanks for your Info. Is there anyway that you can invite & get those directly involved on working on KEW over to the AB forums please? That would be VERY helpful to the Korg community and all of the early KEW buyers here. Thanx!

At least give us a wavetable synth in Gadget that allows import of samples to turn into wavetables.

They already check the forum occasionally, but I'm the only native english speaker on the team so I'm not sure they're super comfortable posting. It's a bit like asking me to go chat with people on Japanese twitter haha

Hi, great to see you here :)
A little off topic, but while your here, do you have any idea when the Legacy collection desktop VST's GUI's are going to be updated. It was mentioned last year around the time of the user ID migration, but it's been radio silence ever since. I have loved these synths since they first came out (i have the brilliant MS20 ic midi controller as well), it would be so great to see them updated at last. I was really excited when it was mentioned & now nothing........any hint of a possible time frame? Cheers.....apologies for the thread hi-jack..............

No worries Davis, that certainly explains a lot! Is there anyway you can translate for them? Really glad to have you around here nevertheless. Cheers!

Well, most of the team is significantly better at English than I am at Japanese. Like it said, I just don't know if they're comfortable actively participating in the forum

I don't know about the Legacy Collection stuff, sorry. We haven't discussed it recently

  • @davis_korgrd please at least share with the team that being able to import your own wave samples into the new Electribe would really sell it for many of us, it looks like a very impressive app.

    Thx!

OK gotcha. Maybe you and the team can informally discuss our requests amongst yourselves to help us make it the world class app that it is meant to be. In these early days, expect user requests and expect changes to any found shortcomings and expect any issues that will arise inevitably with any new product. They can give you there answers if they speak English and you can tell us. Anything is better than nothing & keeping the iOS Korg community in the non responsive dark. That would be a bad thing and if there is radio silence from the Japanese Peeps Davis, kindly raise the possibility of hiring a bilingual customer service rep for iOS as we all deserve some correct answers and solid updates & information from the horses mouth for the premium price we pay per Korg App. Thank you in advance Davis!
