Has any iOS DAW implemented Link? I would imagine it's a non-trivial request.

BM 3 has, and even its predecessor got it. And of course LoopyHD has Link. So it seems to be doable to implement Link into an audio file sequencing app...

If you rely on Ableton Link, NO. If you rely on tight sync while looping a song section, NO. If you want a clear roadmap, NO. If you want user requests to be implemented in a timely fashion, NO. If you need your DAW to slave to an external source, NO.

Glad to see you're up and well, with the same complaints year after year...
Not to offend you, but why didn't you ask Apple for a refund if you're that unsatisfied with the app for so long?

    Best,
    Lars

I think Cubasis is great, and your support here usually likewise, but I have to say that if a customer has ‘the same complaints year after year’, that’s not the customer’s fault, it’s because you guys have ignored those issues ‘year after year’. A little more tact than snark would have made a better impression.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • I got into Cubasis exactly where from where you stand right now.I recommend it 100%.Not that GB is bad but Cubasis is just the best at least for me.

  • @TheOriginalPaulB , you are a good guy, Paul, don't know how long you have been upon the forum. I only am on about six months, but I have never known Lars to be snarky. He certainly doesn't need me to defend him, but he is, after all, only human and can grow tired of a perpetually dissatisfied customer who feels he hasn't gotten his $50 (or $25 bucks worth!... Hell, that is the price of a pizza in NYC). And update after free update that now gives full AU, something posters have wanted for ages and an association with Roli perhaps leading to more MPE innovation. Many want group busses but they still love CB and I am guessing will get their wish in the next update or two.

Maybe the question is does one get $50 worth of value from a product. This product has given me and thousands of others many multiples worth of value for its cost. The poster was the snarky one if you ask me. Hey, I want some great acoustics in CB as inapps like BeatHawk so it is a smoother workflow for me, but that doesn't lessen its tremendous useability, intuitiveness and developer interaction. There are many alternatives for a user if he or she is dissatisfied. The poster I hope will find bliss, make great music, be happy, but don't beat up a generous dev team and individual while you are at it. Just how I see it.

  • I’ve been around in one form or another, both active and inactive, since the forum’s inception. I have also not known Lars to get snarky before, but that’s what made it all the more surprising. Regardless of the considerable merits of Steinberg’s iOS team, they are in a service industry and Lars made a choice to neither ignore a ratty comment, nor be diplomatic about it. I wouldn’t let that pass if I witnessed it in a shop, I didn’t let it pass here, although I kept my tone mild as I felt it was uncharacteristic of Lars to comment in that way. You are welcome to disagree, but I stand by my statement.

  • You are a tough man @TheOriginalPaulB, but I like you.

  • @McDtracy @gusgranite thanks for your input. I decided to purchase Cubasis 2 and I think this will end up being my go-to DAW on iPad. Very fun and intuitive to use so far.

    Guys, please take it easy!

Be assured, I and we do take our users and their requests very seriously. As a result Cubasis is maintained with user-requested features and fixes on a constant regular basis since its initial release back in Dec 2012.

As you might imagine, we receive lots of Cubasis feature requests, and surely wish being able to fulfill them all at once, which however will never be possible. Driving the Cubasis project with a fairly small, but thankfully super skilled team, we have to carefully plan the manageable scope for each individual update.

There is more to come, nevertheless some feature requests will take more time.
In this regard it is important to know, that we do not promise feature additions in advance normally.

I'm absolutely fine with TheOriginalPaulB's critics here and will think about it, so no worries!

    Best,
    Lars
