The Valhalla stuff isn't the most transparent hih class on earth, but has THAT kind of 'musical' sound. I have all of them plus Übermod and each has it's particular use.
The plate eats EOS2 for for breakfast... or rather just the coffee...
(documents pretty well how Shawn got more and more sophisticated - not to forget his heritage, coming from Analog Devices DSP developement department)
He's doing nothing but reverb for years, which explains why we lack some of the better implementations here in IOS land. ;)

Valhalla‘s are great but (for me) not in a league with some others anymore....but they are well priced.
I mostly anyway prefer to combine or even cascade different reverbs.
Reverbs on iOS are not really good yet. Pro-R is good (but also wouldn‘t be my first choice on mac/windows).
If Apple would give us the ChromaVerb as AUv3.
It‘s like Pro-R but i like it better and it‘s more versatile for me as well.

Yes, I fully agree - and this once sent me on a constant search for 'better'.
Until I noticed how nice the Valhallas mixed. The Room (either tiled or wooden) just fits my Martin and I don't want to sparkle it more.
Call it a slight blur or (matte) polish, but it's definetely not 'chrome' style brightness.
It's also a great remedy for those cheapo chinese condensor mic capsules.
Another favourite of mine is the old Pro Tools Lexiverb - dissed on Gearslutz ad infinitum, but it often melts great with electric guitar sounds. As usual... it depends

For 'washing out into infinity' I just apply Übermod's Tape Echo Reverb preset (with a high feedback tweak) upon whatever reverb was on the source - my only use of that plugin.
All these colors of the sonic palette are practically non existent in IOS, which is strange with so many outstanding synths available.

nice if this could come to iOS?

Obviously the price won't change so you would use it for PC/MAC and ipad.

  • altispace and eos2

  • Love the Valhalla verbs too for that price point and ease of use. Maybe we should reach out to him and ask for a port to IOS as Au plugins . The preset format is ascii so presets can be shared with desktop perhaps...That will fill in a gap for awesome accessible reverbs on iOS
