  • Here's my go at it.

  • @crouchie Thank you! Yes all the sounds were Gadget. The strings are using the gadget for Korg Module called Glasgow and an IAP called Orchestral Dreams or something like that.

  • edited October 2018

    @ph8aerror Thanks!!!
All string are Module IAP used in Gadget with Glasgow. Two instances, one panned left and one panned right a bit. High strings left to mimic violin section placement. and lower string right to mimic cello section placement. I’m guessing the Pro R reverb is also making them sound better too 🙂

Hey guys, just finished this yesterday...I usually master.my stuff with the Audiomastering app, but thought id try one of these online "instant" jobbies...i like how it sounds, but it's sooo loud innit?? Anyway...I'll be grateful for any feedback please and also can i fix the volume by simply importing this into Auria...lowering the output volume and mixing down again??
    Cheers guys :)

Listen to Astronaut by Pebble Wreck #np on #SoundCloud

Beautifully sung as always, and great song structure. That bass is very 80s isn’t it? I think the mix sounds just fine actually. The instrumental break is lovely, works a treat. Lyrics really good. Impressed!

I like that very much, you mixed it really well. I mean absolutely no disrespect but I sometimes find the tunes a little over compressed but this one is just right to my (untrained) ears and is one of my favourites. The horns work brilliantly. Really good stuff

    Thanks mate....

@icsleepers that’s a really nice rack. Is the bass guitar sampled or played?
Love-the-vocals! Not sure your “secret sauce” for that vocal sound but it’s done really really well.

Thanks! It’s sampled, the vocals are too haha, no sauce. All Blocs Wave / Launchpad

  • @crouchie Thanks! This one came together really, really fast, it’s more straight forward than others I’ve posted for sure.

like the term art-electronica, although I reckon if you went for artronica it could catch on.

    I think you've just coined a new genre. :)

Great production.... Reminds me of a.... Well, how can I say this?...... Here goes.... a mature sound, of the early Detroit Techno sound of the 90’s.... With knobs on.... Nice one matey....

Tried something a bit different this month. Different timing pattern and most importantly short... Missed u all last month!

(Thank you, by the way, for your comment on my last track. I really appreciate the time you took to listen to it and give your feedback and suggestions).
I really enjoyed the style of your track and the atmosphere created with the panned percussion and the detuned synth bass. I also think you did a great job mixing all of that with the vocals and it has a really neat 80s vibe that I think you do a solid job of alluding to yet making it your own. Fine stuff!

  • Hey, everyone. Here is my submission this month for song creation (should it be called a piece instead of a song since it doesn’t have lyrics?) Anyway, as I state in the caption of the “piece”, this is a reworked version of my second original that I initially made in GarageBand but have now redone in Korg Gadget and mixed in Auria Pro. As you’ll notice, I’ve found that I’ve enjoyed using older sounds for my music (like the Korg DDD-1 and Roland drum samples along with the iM1 and many things alike). This is a fairly upbeat piece that I hope you’ll enjoy and leave your comments and/or constructive criticisms on.

Alright, another one off Cellar Door (haven’t actually written anything new last month). This one I think is my favorite track off the EP (last month I posted a well received one, so I’m treating me this time:)

Like last time, 100% Gadget, Blocs Wave/Launchpad sampling and it’s been run through Grand Finale for a little top end shimmer.

Also, if anyone happens to pick up the EP from BandCamp (http://icsleepers.bandcamp.com) I’m donating 100% of the proceeds to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center still. The company I work for also does a 100% match so you best believe I’m taking advantage of that too :)

Alright, enough out of me thanks for your time folks!!

Dude, love the vocals on this. There's irony here because much of the song has an uplifting hopeful vibe, like an Autumn day in the park, but then you talk about how you never meant for this to hurt you.....a really cool mixture of melancholy and inspiration and hope. Very Cool!

    wow, very soulful and heartfelt.

  • I haven't joined the song of the month club yet, so here goes:
This isn't a new song, but if you haven't heard it yet it is...lol.
I do so much electronic based stuff I thought I'd dig up something I did on a nylon string. I wrote this when I was around 32 and had a GF named Lochelle, the year of 9/11

Wow, really really well played. Incredibly soothing, I'm a sucker for just guitar or piano sometimes, they both hold their own in a solo arrangement (or at least, just with themselves :)

And thanks for the kind words on my months submission! :) here's to hoping I have something new for next month lol...

I like it! The mix is great, everything sits really nicely. It's not totally my bag music wise but I do enjoy what you've done and the classic sounds are a great fit for sure

Great guitar work... Love it.... Happy & bubbly track.... If someone remade Deer Hunter movie.. This should be in one of The soundtracks........ Who needs John Williams now to do the music?.... ;)

  • My Gadget effort for October. Now catching up with everyone else’s submissions for this month! 🙂🙏

Cheers! Yes, Gadget is extremely capable and versatile, at least for my needs and modest abilities. It does make things very quick and easy to get ideas down.

My entry for the month, lyrics in the spoiler as usual:

Great vocals! Especially the trippy effect on some of them. Was that something like a flanger or phaser on some vocal parts? Great sixties feel, or the 90’s psychedelic revival. This has a really nice psychedelic vibe for me. Great tune.

Missed last month...got a bit too busy so took me 1.5 months to finish this one. Made with Gadget and fninshed in Auria Pro with Fabfilter plugins.

Love the fact this was made in Gadget. Sounds so good! Quite dark and melancholy but sweet at the same time. I really like it. Very relaxing.

Wow. This is awesome! It has an early 80’s electronic experimental feel to me, possibly because I’d liken the vocal tones to Phil Oakey. That’s not an insult! I love Phil Oakey’s voice and work. Nice one!

I wish my productions had this much presence and forwardness and richness. I recognise the Blocs Wave elements, fantastic use of those! The bass sounds so good and strong, and everything else sits nicely on top. Great track!
