Volt is one I thought seemed worth $10 ($20 was a bit steep) so I'm buying it finally. Once my app store shows it as $9.99 ... Depending on the view my app store is showing $19.99 or $9.99.

    Edit: Volt purchased 🙂

Hey does volt have midi learn?
    -thx

If it does, it's not obvious how (yet). Only spent a few minutes looking so far, though. It's pretty easy to map things, but you can't, I don't think, touch a control on VOLT then spin a knob on your MIDI controller and it magically works.

It does support MIDI CC mapping via the standalone app (all our apps do actually) when using the AUv3, you'd use the host's mapping facilities.

MIDI Mapping is accessed via the MIDI Menu -> Configure Mapping where you can select any paramter, hit map, then wiggle a knob on your MIDI controller.

Once set, your mappings will persist and restore automatically. Use the "Receive MIDI CC" toggle to enable or disable remote control.

Visually mapping controls by tapping a knob instead of selecting the paramter will be added with the next update as well.

Looks like Yonac's apps and IAPs are 1/2 price.. Tonestack, Kaspar, Galileo Organ 2 etc.. not sure for how long.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tonestack/id870269510

Yonac is the shizzle but caveat emptor about Tonestack.., there’s a lot of IAP bundles in there.

  • Is RE-1 working well now? I remembered there were a few issues, but am tempted to pick this one up :)

It is less twitchy than it used to be. Just used it towards the end of my latest video:

I LOVE RE-1. Fantastic sounding app, well worth it.

Lucky for those that the bundle pricing actually works. I own 3 of the 4 but the bundle still shows $5 more than buying FAC Envolver on its own. Thanks again Apple.

That’s too bad. Is Envolver not on sale by itself?

Look like it is £9.99 in UK store but it was the only FAC app I didn’t have and only cost me £1.01 to complete the bundle...win!

?? No native speaker: Is that positiv or negativ?

    What does the Säle-IAP cost?

Does RE-1 follow MIDI clock and status messages in standalone mode?
    Can't find a manual on numericalaudio.com/re1.

    Thanks

  • Complete Tonestack (sale prices):

    Tonestack app - $4.99
    Motherload v.1.0 - $24.99
    Expansion v.2.0 - $9.99
    Expansion v.3.0 - $9.99

You'll then have everything available at this time.

  • @ka010 I bought Volt yesterday and while it sounds good the text size used in the AUv3 is way too small to be usable on the iPad. It’s fine in the standalone.

It does support MIDI clock but start/stop is still missing, it's on my list for the next update though.

Hmm I know some are smaller than others, but I didn't get any complaints about this so far. Are you having issues with all or some in particular? Also, what size iPad are you using?

I’m using an iPad Air 2. I don’t have a problem with your other AUv3’s. it has the smallest font of any AU synth (well the ones I own anyway). I really can’t read it, but maybe my eyes aren’t so great.

I also think it's a bit small on a 12.9, would be much better with a scaleable UI + fullscreen AU :)

I agree with @Carnbot a scalable AU would work really well and would mean you could increase the interface to the same size as the standalone app. Is there any chance you could update it for us old folk?

Also, only the iPhone, why not use the scrolling synth panel from the standalone for the AUv3 too, it’s much better for the small screen size.

Sure, I'll see what I can do about that.

Hmm not sure I follow. Currently, the iPhone versions have layouts optimized for standalone with different layouts for small and large iPhones, the AUv3 layout is the same as used on iPad.
So, you mean you'd prefer to have the standalone layout in AUv3 as well, is that correct? Also what size iPhone are you using?

Yes that’s right, the standalone layout would work much better for the iPhone AU. I’m using the iPhone XS.

  • I bought RE-1 after watching the @audiodabbler demo using it as a Looper with AUM. You HAVE to check it out to learn a great way to route apps into the Looper and also be able to use them to play along with the Looper using the AUM pre-BUS controllers.

So, much fun. I just need to learn how to use a clock (with a metronome or drum track?) so I can tell when 1, 2, 4, or 8 bars are over.

The tape saturation, hiss, 3 head setting delays and volume controls make this one a winner. I should re-visit some other Loopers in the Vault and see how I can use them in this configuration in AUM... or maybe something similar in AB3 or take the plunge and grab ApeMatrix for live routing goodness.

Doors are slowly opening by watching videos, reading posts and learning apps. I'm beginning to understand what using AUM for "Live Performances" means.

How long can it be before an AUv3 MIDI generator/looper hits the AppStore? I'm just starting to get the Rosetta Suite and just want more cool pattern generators. I'm that close to trying Riffer or buying the PolyHymnia IAP.

I really broke the bank this week with sales... saving about $50 by spending a bit more. I used to spent more than that on a guitar pedal just to inspire me to practice and NOT get near the value.

If you use the AUv3 and enable the "Link Transport" option you can use your DAWs bult in metronome.

The standalone will eventually be getting a metronome as well.

    Thanks.

I need to start digging into sync'ing mechanisms now that I'm building complex AUM set-ups. The ability to save configurations and reload on demand is so powerful... Thank You AudioBus for using "MIDI SYSEX" specs to get everyone on the same page for this to happen.

  • @jigglypuff said:

Yes. I got a lot of "clues" about how to use a live approach for a Looping and can see how it could be applied to selective FX as well.

  • Free for a short time: MIDI Check.
Very nice for debugging MIDI issues, also has a "delta time" display that helps to identify apps sending bad MIDI clock etc.
