IK iGrand Piano has a huge sale ($4,99 from $19,99 same price each Piano Expansion Pack).

Considering the results of the piano poll, I wonder if it's still worthy.

    Also, is not universal app.

You want a great piano on sale right now?

    UVI's Ravenscroft 275 50% off at $18 from $36.
    or
UVI"s BeatHawk $5 with the Acoustic Grand IAP *somewhere around $5-6 I think

BS-16i *always $8 not currently on sale and load the soundfonts4u SF2 "Salamander Yamaha C5" pianos (lot's of sizes there) NOTE: I have found BS-16i to be unstable in AUM lately. They may need an update after IOS 12 was released. When it works it's the best $8 piano option.

Personally I like the iGrand when I want a piano that is light weight in a DAW with a lot of other MIDI instrument tracks. Less crackling and crashing of the app. But loading RC275 and freezing the recording to audio produces the best sound overall.

I love the "iLectric Piano for iPad" too for similar reasons of stability and sound quality.

    @kinkujin

I've asked about au. DRC auv3 will happen. There is only one developer, and more than one product. I'm not aware of the timeline.

While au will be nice for creating things like multiple mono synth voices, drum synthesiser, etc. I don't feel limited by using DRC as an iaa.

Based on my experience DRC is the most accurate analogue synth emu on iOS. I've owned,/used many analogue synths, drum machines, modulars, etc. still own a few. With DRC I've gotten sequential circuit pro1/pro5 type sounds, mini moog type sounds, Jupiter 4 type sounds, etc.

The distortion characteristics/imperfections are brilliant. I don't mean distortion in the sense of guitar type distortion, though DRC can distort in a conventional manner. I mean subtle, thick, grit, imperfect, etc. Like an analogue synthesiser.

Yeah, my experience as well. There is a reason it shows as second result after Model D if you search for "Moog" on the App Store.

I'm just joking about that last sentence, there probably is a better explanation for it, but it sounds bloody brilliant and was the very first iOS synth I ever tried and was amazed by.

    Patterning 2

Still in doubt about purchasing Patterning 2. Still us the 1st version of Patterning a lot but reasons to upgrade are still unclear. If it under 10 bucks probably no brainer though, but unfortunately it's over 10.

I love it. You can keep your samples in tidy folders this time, humanise most parameters per step and automate pretty much everything (including 127 midi ccs per track). MIDI out’s done better/made easier this time. There’s a choice of colours too, and some other nice stuff. Different kits in same project, nudging the grid just a little bit, dividing steps...

If you use v1 a lot I’d say go for it and don’t look back. I bet lots of people spend what would be their Patterning time in other apps, though, and that’s cool. We can’t do it all. It’s a waste of money for folks who’ll never open it.

@brambos I was going to buy one of your apps. Are they already discounted or do I should I wait until Friday?

Apple's price-change planner can be a bit temperamental with its implementation of timezones, but I've tried to make the sales prices start on Friday all through the weekend :)

    Cool thanks :-)

  • Syntronik IAPs are half price. Not sure about this one. Any good?

  • @sdesign said:

Absolutely. They might be pre designed presets rather than fully functional synths, but you can squeeze a lot out of them with the envelopes filter and effects. Plus it's auv3.

  • Is 49.99 a discounted price on Syntronik deluxe inapp?

  • Vehemently disagree on Klevgrand being nothing special. Everything since Brusfri (GF, Kleverb, DAW Cassette/LP, Degrader, GoTo Eq) has been top quality. And the prices reflect that bump in quality.

To the guy who asked about a cheaper DAW cassette alternative, just get it. Don't mess with that LoFly Tape crap just because it's $2 cheaper.

  • The M3000 seems to be on sale, so I'm assuming the Ultimate version (normally $75) is too. You can't go wrong for $30 if you've ever wanted that.

Would be great if it was updated to AUv3

Is 49.99 a discounted price on Syntronik deluxe inapp?

    Yes. Normal price is $80.

  • Yeah daw Cassette does sound hella realistic. I bought a cassette deck since i got pulled in with all tape hype/videos and used it a few times before shelving it (too much effort imo). Last time i used it i was preparing a video performance and used daw as a placeholder in the composition phase and it sounded pretty identical when i replaced it with the cassete recorder.

  • Waiting on drc going to au too.

  • Fugue Machine and Arpeggionome are 50% off now.

  • @LinearLineman apperently that price is discounted price of deluxe

I already have bs-16i, Beathawk Acoustic Piano IAP and iLectric. Maybe I'll get Ravenscroft, despite the app is one hundred miles away from my piano skills.

To fully unlock Bassalicious is currently only $4.99. Regularly $19.99. The app still says 19 but if you click on it the price is only 5 bucks.
It’s one of those apps that really gets overlooked because of the (imo) kinda ridiculous price and probably the name, but man it sounds good. I mainly use hardware and feel a lot of iOS synths lack that full thick analogue tone in comparison, but Bassalicious is one of my top iOS monosynths in terms of pure big fat sound, it has a really nice filter to top it off too. Not trying to shill too hard for them, just thought I’d give them a little endorsement since I very rarely see it mentioned here. It’s an audio unit too.

  • FYI, I saw both DRC and BASSalicious in Doug's list of AUv3 synths in a recent video... So the betas must be in full swing.

On the desktop DAW front Studio One 4 is 50% off. Tempted to upgrade from version 3 for £64 UK.

Have 2 say I’m tempted, just because of the subscription policy Avid has implemented in Pro Tools 😡

  • Tim Webb @discchord at www.disschord.com as has been said has a pretty good handle on the sales, plus the list is really links to the store for each sale so putzing around trying to get to the apps page is limited.

Neo-Soul Keys Studio is $9.99 which is an obscenely great deal...I figure news would’ve broke if it was going to happen, but man I’d love to see FabFilter Pro Q2 on sale. I have it in Auria but not as a AUv3...

  • Fingers crossed for Seekbeats

Hey guys, Samplist is also $2.99 until Sunday. If it doesn’t show up discounted just wait a bit. It’s not instantly set.

Did anyone said Black Friday week? I’m late to the party but just wanted to let you know Samplist is only $2.99 until Sunday. And if we’re lucky a small update will be published until then too. :) https://t.co/LCklkYJ2NJ pic.twitter.com/pBcTv9DNq5
