  • apeMatrix if it's one for being a great alternative to AUM and Audiobus.

  • Stagelight: What with the myriad modulations in “Sampleverse “ it’s a sire bet to get better . I ha e a feeling this is going to evelve nicely . Second as I have not explored yet is NS2 because I believed it upped the ante for other delopers including Open Labs .

I tried to limit myself to one app and just couldn't do it. I'm not even sure about some. Was that 2018 or 17? When was Xequence? That's a good bread and butter one. Gestrument Pro was probably the most unique. I'm having lots of fun with Groove Rider, maybe too much fun. NS2 is obviously the popular choice, but I haven't explored it much yet. When was Rozeta? I'm sure I'm missing something, and I feel bad about that. I tried, but I'm not really cut out for this kind of question.

  • Spacecraft

  • Rhymers Block is simply marvelous.

ApeMatrix.. Rozeta, can’t remember how it’s called! :* Rozetrix??

  • Fabfilter Pro Q2 AUv3.

Completely nailed the AU spec. All my favorite resolutions, no compromise on features. Just pure excellence.

  • Korg Electribe Wave because it’s the best out of all the Electribes. I’d pay good money for a hardware version just like it, but with onboard sampling and more sample editing features.

So, have avoided this because, well, I've got it in Auria, why do I need to buy it again? Mix/master (such as it is) in Auria anyway etc etc.

    Mistake? Missing out?

Hmmm, under these conditions (processing) I would say to... (result) hold off until ProQ3.

  • Ravenscroft has been my most used app this year so that’s taking first place for my own use case.

I think Groove Rider is a legitimate entry because it dropped so late in the year, Christmas, and it’s evolved considerably since then, remember when it was limited to 4 bars? :p Groove Rider wins for groundbreaking and “game changing” innovation on the IOS platform. A full length 60 minute Groove Rider album is absolutely on the vet top of my 2019 bucket list.

I had a call from an unassigned number. I presumed it was your lawyer. Or worse.

  • For creative sound design: Groove Rider.
For quick composition using a good preset and sample library: Gadget + Stockholm.

  • Definitely Aparillo with Noir and Kleverb right behind.

This ! Apart of NS2 this is for me biggest app for many years, still can't believe how much great stuff packed @jimpavloff into this little miracle. Superb sound, super intuitive workflow, instant inspiration. Sold Korg Electribe because of this :)

NS2: 70% because it makes writing songs easy.

I've still yet to get this. A tenner of my £30 credit has just gone to Aphelian, so I'll have to wait until NS2 has a sale, or this Drambo things sneaks in first.

@jimpavloff is a fantastic developer, no question.
I'm not ready yet to say goodbye to my EMX1 but indeed I'm using GR16 much more often than the trusty blue steel box.

    Thanks - worth a try!

  • I’ve got to say SpaceCraft for its clever inspiring design and I ended up using it in most of my tracks since getting it.

Close runner up to AUM/Rozeta suite combo that revolutionized my workflow.

  • The same app gets both my best and worst app purchase...... Moog Model D !!

Best because - It's a Moog Model D and sounds amazing (and doesn't suffer the same issues as the 'other' Model D app)
Worst because - I'm on an Air 2 and it won't handle much more when running a Model D instance (and I want to use lots)

I can’t beleive I am saying this but iMPC Pro 2 (iPhone) just wow

    Pls explain

It’s essentially an iPhone sampler, sequencer and it hosts AUv3’s...just needs the AUfx implementation and files integration to be a truly great app in my estimation...it does have some minor bugs in my experience but in terms of work flow it’s pretty much everything I have been looking for.

  • I just got GR-16 last month. All the kudos and hype are well deserved.

I am going to give another app my Best of 2018 title though.
Gestrument Pro. This app is innovative, original, and really deep. Great as a controller, great internal sounds, rock-solid performance. And it can be used in so many different ways, it really is up to who is using it or designing its surface setup.

Yep. Me too friend. You’re not alone. Maybe once the creases are ironed out of the new Pros I’ll make the leap.

Going by how often NS1 had sales you might be waiting a long long time!
