@Max23 Sure, search fixed. Also fixed the preset styling.

@ajmiller Ouch! Mind going again and doing another screenshot? I turned on debug errors.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Lovely, thanks @ajmiller. Reported to the developers, and I've found and removed the offending database entry, so you should be good to go.

  • Sorted @Michael - noted the thread title change! Heh! Thanks

  • Yeah getting a bit hairy in here 🙃

    @Michael

If one uses the code block feature of text formatting (<> on the left side of the edit
text box) you get strange text high-lighting as you can see in this example.

It seems that keywords of some kind of programming language are formatted differently.

bold keywords: if then else on some as get put in while for with at but not the end
blue keywords: true false string boolean text words number integer
no keywords: switch int float double fn function let def

The keywords line, foreach and case seem to influence the whole text, changing blue keywords to bold...

I am still trying to figure out which language that could be, its not one know. Either there are additional highlighted keywords or language keywords are missing and ‚some‘, ‚but‘ and ‚the’ are really strange for a programming language 😃

Also the underlaid grey box is clearly more visible in the editor and its preview than in the final post - it seems to use the same color as the page background and while in the editor there is a lighter background in the editbox.

  • Well that's a bit of fun!

Ewww, full path disclosure... talk about security holes 😯 (not sure if I quoted the right Screenshot, I can't see it in the quote nor click on the link during editing).

EDIT: To clarify... when I was still kind of "official" systems administrator, it was considered bad security to reveal full paths on the server because it could give attackers another attack vector.

When I submit a reply, I can only see my new post after manually refreshing the page. (iPhone)

  • Yeah - that's not a mode I usually enable, but I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why the error. So, turned it on for a moment to get the diagnostic info.

  • Hey I think the text is a little hard to read right now...

  • edited February 2019

yes, this light grey in the thread title lines is hardly readable at the moment, please change

(even white in the announcements right now, completely unreadable)

The font color of both (unread and read) thread titles on the main page are currently broken on iPad safari IOS 12.1.1

Also i would prefer if the posts author name when reading a thread would be bigger/stronger - currently the names using in quotes are more visible than the autors name posting the quote:

  • I don't know what you mean! It's perfectly readable 😅 Yep my bad, fixed now.

  • i’m in iphone, and the titles of each thread

appear light grey on white background. very hard to read.

  • .. and it just changed to readable, thank you

  • working now

The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • What the. Works here! What page you on?

  • 12.1.3 (sorry for being a slouch!) ;) Shouldn’t matter though... web sites should work on at least 2 years old browsers (my rough planning figure when I implement web based systems)...

But feeling your pain... now you know why I don’t use ANY third party software (apart from a browser) 😉

  • Hmm! And you're on Safari?

  • Yeah - title readability is back to normal 😀

  • edited February 2019

Yep, stock Safari... but don't worry too much. If nobody else reported it, it's probably one of those "INeverHadYourProblem"s 😄

    EDIT: Working now! 🤔

The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • What I also see a lot is not being taken automatically to the first unread post in a thread anymore. Instead I'm taken to some random post in the middle.

But again, if nobody else has this problem... ignore it ;)

  • I have to say, the inability to edit quotes is a huge hassle. In longer threads or complex topics you want to be clear about what you are responding to.

Actually, when you quote larger pieces of text or posts with quotes themselves, you can't see all of the original text; the disclosure triangle doesn't seem to work. This makes it very difficult to even remember what was being discussed!

  • When I viewed from my phone I could see lines separating posts. Without dividers it feels like they blend together.

  • I still feel that the old layout was a lot clearer and quicker when scanning a popular thread:

1- avatars on the far left without text around them; makes it a lot quicker to scan for posts by author - when the avatars are embedded in the title bar with text in the same column it's harder to recognize as your brain is processing the other stuff. This is even worse with the new quoting that has a smaller avatar in the same vertical line as the poster. Yes it's smaller, but it's still more visual noise when scanning through a lot of posts.

2- names in larger, bolded font by themselves; again, much clearer to read (and bizarre that the quoted names are bolded now while the main post is not)

3- time, date and flag on the other side of the header, again, on a single line; quicker to scan by date when it's by itself instead of under the name (which is at the same size and type)

4- entire post in a box; clearer to delineate posts. Especially as the new quotes also have a grey background - not as dark as the title, but still, it's not as clear when quickly scanning.

Overall, I feel this is better on smaller devices, but worse on the larger ones.
