Hehe, yeah I’m in. Been fiddling with the Gadget update tonight (love those drum jammers), but this will be tomorrow’s treat :)
It's the little things that make the workflow so fast in this one. You get a little thing going and then drag/drop to the next "scene" pad and sequence another little noise. Drag that one to the next scene pad, etc. Seriously, so fast it'll make you giggle. I totally forgot to play the effects during the recording... :-(
”Build the Wall”?
Taking out my displeasure with the MAGA crowd by banging on their heads with noise.
So something I just figured out- maybe I’m slow- but if you play iTunes/Spotify and switch back to koala and hit record- there you go- sample. Haven’t tried it with AudioShare yet
Through the external speaker of the device, right?
@waka_x Congrats on the app. Just bought and really like the workflow.
One thing I couldn’t figure out... How do you get the parts to play consecutively from start of the part? I sequences a 1 bar intro part, then duplicated it with drag a drop (very cool) and increased the new part to 4 bars. I then recorded a melody into this 4 bars.
When switching between the two parts the second part always picks up at the start of bar 2 (the bar after the 1 bar intro bar) as opposed to the start of the part 2 phrase.
Also, anyway to have the app copy the contents of the pattern if the bars are increased? In my case above when I increased from 1-4 bars, bars 2-4 were blank. Would be great it that could be filled with the same thing as bar 1.
Comgratulations again. This is going to be great fun on the daily commute.
@elf_audio looks supercool and will buy this to show support too. With this new version can I record audio into it via the line in of my external soundcard or is it ipad/iphone microphone only?
@lukesleepwalker THANK YOU!! The main reason I make music software is just to hear what people do with it, amazing, thanks!!!
@DYMS Thank you for pointing that out about jumping between the 2 sequences, will take a look.
@stormbeats It should be able to take a line in no problem - I've only tried with a behringer interface and it works (for now it records in mono, but will be stereo soon)
thanks everyone for the encouragement!
@elf_audio ok thats really cool. Will try it later with external soundcard. This really is good start to the app. Landscape mode soon as if poss :-)
@elf_audioIs there one shot mode I cannot seem to find a setting?
@elf_audiothis app is onto a winner you have created something very special with this app for sure, iam an old school MPC/SP404 dude since the early 90s and this is going to take off big time - will spend and support any in app purchases etc. Thanks
Great tip, review has been left!
@elf_audio pad mute groups would be cool .
Cool app. Purchased. Looks similar to:
Not had a proper play to compare yet, but love this type of app.
I tried sampling through my USB audio device.
SUCCESS!
I ran the Headphone jack out to the USB audio input, and tried sampling an app running in AUM.
SUCCESS!
Cool, this is exactly what i needed! I was thinking about making something similar with pure data and mobmuplat but this pops up. Also like sampletoy which i’ve been using for a longtime.
cheers!
Please do me one of these with 'clean your room' as the hook. Has just the right tired insistence :)
I just played with Koala a bit more. I personally prefer it over Slicr, because of its clean UI and less convoluted workflow. Please forgive me for adding another feature request:
merge samples:
bake one sample into another by dragging a sample pad unto another pad. With the help of the resample function and the recording fx, this would ley you create complex soundscape type samples. This could also be achieved if the app would let us play mutliple samples at once (polyphony). Hit resample and play all the samples you want merged, simultaneously.
Right up my street. Excellent app nice workflow
Has anyone found a way to trigger samples in One Shot mode or is there none
This is excellent, great workflow and proper fun. Exports perfect loops to Audioshare too.
Using phone only?
Haven't installed it on the phone yet - just iPad. Recorded a few vocal noises, and YouTube clips by sticking it in front of the speakers. Recorded a few silly sequences, and then hit the export loop option.
Really like it, and will use it for some of my more....obscure...projects. Only issue I had was triggering notes via the 'keyboard', when recording. Bit hit and miss, some wouldn't trigger, so difficult to make an accurate recording. Could be my 'older' iPad.
Overall though this is a very fun thing, and if it's developed further with proper sample editing, AU support, and sample import, it'll be a serious music making tool.
Just an idea, have you enabled iOS zoom on your device? You can’t play more than two notes on touchscreen with zoom enabled.
Saw JBP in Brisbane last night ...
? They always trigger/ record in one shot mode. What do you mean?
Can't wait for sample import!
And yes, please: landscape mode!
JBP?

Thanks for the suggestion. Nah, switched off. I can play more than one note at a time, and it wasn't an issue when playing, but when I hit record the triggering seemed a bit random. Could just need a reboot as it's a new app, often cures any hiccups.
