Oh yeah, I am aware that the GUI is not a pleasure to the eye. This will evolve over time. Stability and functionality have the higher priority. Improving the IR management is obviously the most urgent task.
wayni, the purchase process is handled by iOS / StoreKit functions. It would be an app store malfunction if you are charged twice for a non-consumable item. The following ought to happen: After you tap "In-App Purchases..." in the action menu of the Info View, you are presented the available in-app purchases. When you tap "Purchase or restore" for the item "Convolution Reverb" and enter your password, the next alert says "Confirm Your In-App Purchase Do you want to buy one Convolution Reverb for xy $/€/...?". Only after tapping "Buy" you get the alert "You've already purchased this. Tap OK to download it again for free". This sequence of alerts (first stating the price, later showing that it is free) is suboptimal, but I cannot change it; it is iOS functionality.
With current sales numbers (2+3 at the first two days) I am not ready to take over the world, but I'll work on that, too. ;-)

I suspect there are a number of people who don't understand what IRs do. It's fairly to me. I hope the sales numbers improve for you. I bought the IAP yesterday and having a blast with it.
One request though...with Open In, if the file is less than 10-15 seconds, could it be brought into the conv rev instead of the audio files?
Thanks Markus. I was just a little shy about hitting the buy button but it works just as you said.
After reading the iFunbox trick and loading up a bunch of 5150 and Orange cab IRs I can definitely say that this is well worth the IAP. On my iPad 2 with BIAS and Rooms! loaded up I get such nice and warm sounds. Much better to my ears than the cabs that are built into BIAS itself.
@wayni - do you have some good links for the IRs you're using?
Excellent idea, I will add this to 3.1. But I will give the user an option to turn the mechanism off because maybe there are people who like to add reverb to short audio snippets for whatever purpose.
Markus
@funjunkie27 send me an email - [email protected]
Great! Thanks Markus.
I'll send you an email shortly @wayni.
Is this an iPhone app or is it universal so that it is also designed with the iPad in mind?
Universal.
Oh! That's good! I had the impression that it was iPhone only for some reason.... Now my interest goes WAY UP!!! :-D
It looks like SpaceSampler just got updated to allow custom IR's, though I have not yet tested it. And I had no problem with AudioCopy from Audioshare into SpaceSampler.
It would be nice if this got on the Bus.
Wow... polaron_de I always loved the two free organ apps, I'm saving for the paid ones... and when I first saw Rooms I admit, I brushed it off. After seeing this thread I downloaded it. Tried the convolution demos... immediately bought the IAP. Ironically my "joe job" has a stairwell that I was going to record in to get a certain audio effect. The van Saane has the exact sound I wanted (oh how I miss Amsterdam...
)
In fact I am trying to promote iOS music in my community with lessons for my charity... making a video soon. Hope you don't mind I will be showing this (of course explaining all apps I use)

I asked about AB support to SpaceSampler today on twitter and he replied with something like this:
"We weren't able to support AB this time around. As hardware gets faster we will take another look.We may support it in future for newer hardware like iPad Air"
....which is puzzling to me since we have all these powerful audio engines now....but maybe it's the complexity of IR

Funny, I did the same, and got a similar response. I gave him the link to this thread, and let him know that there is definitely some interest from the AB community. We'll see.
Auria runs its convolution unit just fine in an Audiobus or IAA (or outside source) setup, on later hardware. So shouldn't be a problem today to do a convolution effect unit that'll work on live recordings.
@ChrisG For what it's worth, my iPad 3 can not run AB and the Auria Convolution reverb simultaneously without crackle/explode audio death.

iPad 3 got the same CPU as iPad 2. I don't have my iPad 2 any longer, but I vaguely remember running some IAA or AB sound source through the convolution unit. Record buffer set to 512 in Aurias record settings window/tab? And nothing else running then sound source, Auria and the convo as insert? I could just be completely senile here though, mixing shit up.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Air is no problem with a bunch of other CPU intensive things (as long as the RAM is under control), so the iPad 4 should really be able to run it, with a proper buffer size setting.
I'm looking forward to Kymaticas convo unit. Giggiddy!
The new features list of 3.1 is defined, see "Plans for upcoming releases" at http://polaron.de/Rooms/index.html
There is now a zip package of the van Saane IR set at http://polaron.de/Rooms/vanSaane_1.0.zip , for those who would like to use the WAV files with other software.
Great! Does the bullet "Bulk-move of files from the documents directory to the IR library" refer to the Audio Files documents?
Yes. It will be possible to copy or move all audio files (files in the app's documents directory) with a duration up to 5 / 10 / 15 seconds to the IR library.
Very nice! Looking forward to the update.
about Auria convolution reverb and iPad2: I don't remember any problems. But I rarely use stereo tracks. A live input from microphone going through the convolution reverb is mono anyway.
I think it makes physically the most sense to have a mono source signal (a sound source localised at a point) and a stereo IR (two listener positions, one for each ear). This means two convolution operations for one source signal.
Of course theory is not important. Only the result and what you do with it is important.
I bought the convolution IAP for Rooms! on my iPhone, but when I try to access it on my iPad it seems to be trying to charge me twice. Has anyone experienced this and gone through with it anyway to see if it does indeed charge you twice?
No, it won't charge you twice. It's just how it works. When you press ok, as if you are going to buy it, it checks Apple's records and sees that you've already paid. No worries.
Thanks @wayni I couldn't remember it asking me to pay an amount in other apps before.
