  • I wonder if there will be any confusion between iRing and iRig and if this thing generates ads.

  • They kind of remind me of Roland's d-Beam controller concept.

  • Reminds me that the guy sucked at pong! And it looked like it allowed for cheating too!

  • iPrecioussss...

  • Too funny! Coincidentally, I had been looking for the one ring to rock them all.

  • Have you tried looking in MorDAW?

  • edited January 2014

It is being used by booth visitors at CES right now, we'll have more videos and information coming. If anybody from this forum is there, feel free to stop by and give it a whirl. Edit - we'll add them to this page when available: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/iring Thanks!

  • MorDAW?? You have an answer for everything @PaulB! Great stuff man!

    Amazing.

  • It's good to see a company trying something new.

  • Laptop Magazine and Macmixing have visited the booth and posted videos so far: http://blog.laptopmag.com/iring-hands-on-motion-controller-that-fits-between-your-fingers and

So I can use this as a foot switch then, right? If so, that's awesome.

Edit: Meh, since it's a motion thing I'm not really getting how I could use it like that (after watching the video)

  • Great... Another pop-up beckons.

AmpliTube will work with iRing, yes, so we'll see where all that goes. Any devs can get access to the SDK too, if interested, details at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/iring

  • @ik_multimedia Is the ring using Bluetooth or the camera or? How does it affect battery life?

  • Never mind, read the page - uses the camera. That can't be good for a battery!

  • It looks like you get less precision and get to wave at your device which you are close enough to touch. It looks terrible and gimmicky, sorry! But then again it has blown that guys mind, eh ;)

  • I'll just say this; I've been pondering how awesome a ring pedal switch would be off an on all day since I saw this. I've come to the conclusion it would be rather bad ass. I guess we'll see where it goes.

Come try it out, you don't need to be close enough to touch and it works quite well. We're at CES if you are nearby and it will be there to use at NAMM too.

  • Does the name iRing put anyone else in mind of some kind of rastafarian sphincter?

  • Too gimmicky for my taste. You might as well put it on your dog's paws and get it to jump up and down near your iPad. Reminds me of iPants. It's pants. This is hit or miss. Sorry not for me.

  • For $25 I will order it... just for sake of interest. Haven't found an IK product yet I don't like, despite the usual hate I see (what would the internet be without whiny haters). I'm thinking it might also be a cool thing for kids. I run a small music charity to get kids into music. My most popular item to show kids is my theremin... they love motion control music. I have many ideas for apps (to potentially earn money for my charity idea), but I'm a musician not a computer programmer. So any developers that see this comment... please msg me.
