Damnnnn... been waiting for something like this for so long!!!
I will buy day 1
This is what i hoped for with iMPC and then some
Tell me about it!
Combine that super smart workflow with UVI's sounds and it's a freakin' winner!
i'm going to set this up as a standalone mpc-clone. just dug out my old maudio sound card and mpd24.... dope
I have a Line 6 Sonic Port for my guitar but I like that it has Line IN also and heaphones out. And looks good too.
Looks really nice, the way you can mute parts of the same pattern in the song sequencer is genius!!!
Well, with this and Cubasis eventually getting Automation, guess I'm gonna be able to ditch the BM2 footprint (relatively) soon!
Wow!
I'm officially interested! :-)
Questions to be answered:
Does it have proper Audiobus, IAA, Virtual Midi, Midi Sync, Audiocopy/Audiopaste or AudioShare or General Pasteboard?
I didn't see a place to program the beats--just play them live. Is there a place for that?
Can samples be imported, and can they be imported by bulk, rather than one at a time?
When is it out and how much will it cost?
I guess time will tell, but it DOES look pretty cool! :-)
Have you watched the video ?
They estimate 2 months. They currently beta test (and Saintjoe will participate, and hopefully post a detailed video).
Also the guys said they're working on some separate feature.
I guess it has a piano roll or smth also. I love the scene arranger too. Smart and simple.
Any word on Audiobus, IAA, Virtual Midi, Midi Sync, Audiocopy/Audiopaste or AudioShare or General Pasteboard?
We're finalizing the secret feature hahaha. Another mpc clone. Spend, spend, spend.

Good old bm2. Intua should release their own stand alone beat sampler.
This is looking wicked. I'm stoked on this one. Has some very interesting features that will super streamline beat workflow.
I'm all about this one. I always liked what they had going on with the Electrobeats, but you could only bring in samples through the iTunes file manager which just sucked.
The functionality itself was cool though. They have a free version, so check it out since this seems like an open, non-endorsed version with a better UI and more functionality.
Anybody know if it can handle 24 bit samples and time independent pitch shift?
Thanks
Any rumors of a release date? A must have!
It is supposedly a "few" months away...

Let's just relax then

This stuff. I want it.
So there are more NAMM presentations that are late? ;-)
This looks like it could be the best drum sample player out there. I heard them say something about multisampled kit in the video. If this allows me to import my own samples, no competition. It did seem like the guy shooting the video was a bit leading with his questions though.
The pitched (keyboard) version of a pad is a really cool take on the 16 levels idea. Since this offers multisample support, I'd also like to see it the other way around too—spread out (up to) 16 samples from a multisampled instrument across pads.
I wrote UVI and asked if Beathawk will accept an external MIDI controller, and if MIDI velocity will work. The answer to both questions is yes!
I plan to hook up my Korg padKONTROL to the iPad to play each of the 16 Beathawk pads with dynamic, velocity control. It really makes a difference to have drums played dynamically, instead of fixed velocity. I have already done this with NanoStudio, BeatMaker, GarageBand and other iPad apps.
I am suspicious. Two total AB forum posts, both about Beathawk. One claiming it to be a 'must have', the other illuminating two (important) features not presented in the video. @bsabtoro are you affiliated with UVI?
This forum has been rigged for the longest time. I dont mind as long as the app rocks and delivers. But I've suspected certain members posting incognito ads from to time. Nature of popular forums.
Ethics have gone out the window around here as of late.
We need to adopt a full disclosure policy, such as, I am affiliated with ..., or, I received a free copy of this app for reviewing it. Many other sites have adopted such policy.
I do think the app looks good, but @Syrupcore is right, bsantoro should explain. Stuff like this will make me not buy the app no matter how great it is, If this indeed the case.
Of all the questions you could've asked... you decided to ask about MIDI velocity )
Damn!
Heh - I love busting astro turfing, but he has posted unrelated (i.e. non UVI) stuff on a few others forums (incl. Discchord) - so not sure that its a complete zero to hero account
..or I'm also him and I'm creating multiple accounts to defend him!! Ah.. the intrigue!
