Waiting for Black Friday sales?

Have we reached that time of year when you say to yourself: "hmmm, yeah, but if I wait two months, I can get that app in a Black Friday deal"? Popped into my head for the first time this year over the weekend!

Yarr, looks to be adding yet to be done?

  • Waiting for more Eventides here, already have everything I need and many apps I don’t use anymore.

  • I want to complete isymphonic. I just have the pitched percussion left. Been waiting for a long time.

Yup me too for existing apps. It is just Drambo and unknown future apps here on out for me.

  • I’m all apped out, still have credit from a birthday voucher from 6 weeks ago.

Couple of pricey apps I’d go for if they were cheap enough, otherwise it’s 99p deals or wait for new stuff. Hardware updates are the thing I desperately need.

  • I pretty much only use BM3 Samplers, Model D, Ruismaker, RoxSyn and Blocs Wave these days, with AB3/AUM for under the hood/routing stuff when necessary. I'd pick up an extra Bram Bos instrument or a few new Blocs Wave/Launchpad packs though if the price dropped.

  • :p

    Too Soon....

  • I may stash some money back but mainly for hardware. A few apps would be nice too

  • Sales are great of course but we also need a healthy marketplace for developers. I am reminded of that thread a few weeks back about how we probably need to change our attitude a bit if we want developers to continue releasing products and supporting the iOS platform.

  • Hoping for eventide reverb this blackfriday. We will see

  • edited September 2019

The sales are far less common nowadays. Understandably so.

I do have a tendency to grab another delay/reverb/etc that I don’t really need if I see a nice discount so won’t be unhappy if Black Friday is cancelled this year!

  • I bought the most useless apps because of a sale...

  • edited September 2019

I'm just waiting for Drambo not interested in other apps at the moment

It's a good point. But I buy at full price all the stuff I know I will use regularly--or who I see working their butts off. For me black Friday is about grabbing the stuff I may not use all the time but still will find handy from time to time.

It’s not our responsibility nor in anyone’s best interest to artificially prop up the market. Developers aren’t talking to each other and saying “We’re gonna give this new app away for free because we want users to continue using our products”.

It is not our fault that an iPad isn’t as robust of an environment as a desktop. Quit feeling guilty about getting good stuff for so cheap and just appreciate it and use it.

  • edited September 2019

The apps are already close to free.

A quick look at the prices for the handful of iOS apps that have been ported to desktop shows how lucky we are!

  • IS IT BLACK FRIDAY YET???.... HOW ABOUT NOW???!? 😄

The first apps to go on sale get my serious consideration for purchase... just saying. I have $7.20 up for grabs, just burning a hole in me pocket! 🤣

  • TB please do a sale.
    Or a bundle at least.

A TB bundle. YES. Was thinking the same thing while looking at all their stuff on the app store today.

I hadn’t thought of a TB bundle... Yes, that would be cool. Sign me up for a bundle of tuberculosis right now!

Wait... tuberculosis is the kissing disease, right? 🤒💗

  • An early sale of note: GR-16 and Poison 202 are currently on sale for half off.
(well. grooverider is down to $9.99 from $18.99, but close enough.)

  • Don't have too many on the list - BUT- of course it will ALL go out the window once the sales start.. especially a TB bundle.. :)

  • haha it's still well over a month to go yet ;)

  • Aren't they run on the actual "black Friday" December 13?

It's easier for you that have a US appstore account to say. To make an example of that extra Apple is charging non US accounts. I have a Swedish account and an app that's 11.99$ is approximately 116SEK, but Apple wants 149SEK for it. That's almost 4$ more for us to pay than for you that's having a US account.
Thats money I hardly think goes directly to the developers.
