You could still use autoplay with pattern changing if you map the parameter though no?

I just checked with Rozeta XY's CC-1 via AUMs MidiControl to Poly2's pattern change AU parameter that the patterns are changing with autoplay enabled.

Saying that, it's trivial on my end to add support for program changes so I'll add it in the next update. It would also have the benefit of allowing people to use the feature outside of the AU which is cool.

Thanks a lot for considering PC support for pattern changes - that would make setup easier :)

Ol’ JS aims to please! Seriously responsive and supportive dev. People need to throw more money at him so he sticks around! 😂

  • Hi, interesting sequencer, wonder if anyone is actually playing it with a Digitone as I think it could well be a winner here

Funnily, it reminds me of Digitakt in some ways.

  • @JSMilton does poly 2 have a snap option on the sample or does it snap to zero crossing automatically?

    Hey Trevor,

It'll apply a tiny fade in, even if the envelope is off. So it's kind of like a zero crossing, but a bit of a cheat way of doing it to be honest!

Thats fine, as long as the pop is avoided 👍

Samplerate is taken into account when pitching so they should be absolutely fine.

  • Hey guys,

Hope everyone had a good christmas and new year. I've just released version 1.4.

    Features:

    • Added Random Hold and Random Glide shapes to the LFO.
    • You can now remove the quantise from around a ring as well as between the rings. These can be adjusted independently of each other.
    • Program change MIDI messages can now be used to change the pattern and FX slots.
    • Beat Skip parameter now supports offsets within the same skip period.
    • The duplicate button will now add the new node onto the next subdivision.
    • Graphics performance has been optimised so the app now runs at ~60 FPS at all times.
    • New example projects.
    • The sample browser now maintains its last position.

    Bug fixes:

    • The autoplay option in the AU is now persisted between launches.
    • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the AU to show double nodes on first load of a saved project.
    • Changing the frequency of an unsynced LFO will no longer cause the phase to jump.

    Cheers!

  • Cool update. That’s my evening sorted! 👍😃

  • This did fix my trig/auto play issue. Thank you 🙏!

Can you sorta rephrase that for small brained people like me? 🤪

That's exactly what the unlock icons do. If you check out the No Quantise and Geiger example projects you should be able to grasp what they do.

The offsets for beat skip give you control of which beats actually get skipped. So if you had skip set to 2 before, it would play first then skip second. Now you have the option to skip first and play second by selecting the first offset of beat 2. There's an example project called Offsets which shows this working.

    @drez you're welcome man!

  • wow, downloaded it today and its one of those apps when I cant wait to show my friends 😁
I have one question and if the anwser is yes im buying the full version.
    Does it work in garageband?

Since im new to ios music I work in GB until I really feel I need something with more to offer

Got it, I see now. Good implementation to allow more groove but not be a complete mess.

Ah!!! Remember when I mentioned the Elektron conditional trigs modulus options? That's like this... Perfect.

Searching for Beat or Skip in the app manual yields no results?

Is there somewhere I can read up on this?

I haven't actually added anything about the node parameters in the manual. I swear I intended to at some point lol. I'm gonna add a section explaining them all today so by this evening there will be a lot more info in there.> @bleep said:

  • @JSMilton do we have to dowload the new version or does it download itself automatically ?

Are we talking about the manual? If so, it will update itself. It's basically just a link in the app to a webpage that hosts the docs. No download necessary. It's actually live now if anyone wants to take a look.

  • @JSMilton many thanks ! i looooove poly 2 !!!

  • @JSMilton, regarding the FX presets 1-2-3-4 that can be linked to a pattern. Would it be possible to have the same 1-2-3-4 on the sample edit page? The ability to modify sample start/stop positions etc. when changing patterns would be very useful.

  • Just keeps getting better and better this app, love the updates :)

  • @JSMilton thanks so much for the update and be sure that many of us sitting silently in the background appreciate your efforts on the manual because boy do we need it :)

I wholeheartedly agree here. I’m not the quickest to pickup things. I envy so many here that can do that, but my mind works differently, or...just doesn’t work

The manual helps me immensely. Thanks for being able to push your creativity of a visual app with your talent of telling code how to put it into fruition. Amazing.

So I thought about this a lot when I was doing it for the FX. I decided against it as I thought it could get too confusing seeing as there are 8 samplers and it could be difficult to keep track of everything. The other consideration is the keyboard / mixer and whether that should also get 4 slots. Anyway that's my train of thought on it! I definitely like the idea though and I still consider it when I'm thinking of updates, so it could appear in the future.

@drez @JohnnyGoodyear You are most welcome for the manual! I took quite a few liberties with the UI in the hopes that people would just work some stuff out on their own, but I understand that a lot of people don't work that way. So definitely needed the manual lol.

Thanks again for all the support guys, really glad everyone is enjoying the app.
