It does indeed work in Garage Band. Glad you're into it.>

Thank you, I played it with my friends, we with crazy with it :)
    Fun and clever!

Now I have one more question, when I open it in GB, it plays but when I hit record no track is actualy recorded, I must be doing something wrong.

@JSMilton, regarding the FX presets 1-2-3-4 that can be linked to a pattern. Would it be possible to have the same 1-2-3-4 on the sample edit page? The ability to modify sample start/stop positions etc. when changing patterns would be very useful.

So I thought about this a lot when I was doing it for the FX. I decided against it as I thought it could get too confusing seeing as there are 8 samplers and it could be difficult to keep track of everything. The other consideration is the keyboard / mixer and whether that should also get 4 slots. Anyway that's my train of thought on it! I definitely like the idea though and I still consider it when I'm thinking of updates, so it could appear in the future.

I see your concerns for the multi-page views (sampler and keyboard). Perhaps continue the gentle start by adding 4 slots for the mixer? With a separate “Use pattern mixer index” in the Performance settings.
Anyway, I believe the interested user that uses your app regularly will handle 4 slots for all sections, also the sampler. It would be so powerful:) The casual user would just leave it unchanged as 1 anyway. Go for it:)

  • @JSMilton thank you so much for the addition of random LFOs. This makes one of the top 5 iOS apps even better!

Searching for Beat or Skip in the app manual yields no results?

Is there somewhere I can read up on this?

I haven't actually added anything about the node parameters in the manual. I swear I intended to at some point lol. I'm gonna add a section explaining them all today so by this evening there will be a lot more info in there.

I still don’t get any results when searching for Beat or Skip via the in-app manual.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Yea, sample flipping could get confusing... I’ve though during a jam it would be cool, but can’t figure out how it could be done intuitively.

But, mixer snapshots would be awesome!

  • I had the original poly, and so this for some reason got lost in the NEW NEW NEW app lust.

I was really missing out. It's amazing. A joy to play. Thank you, @JSMilton

Here is one intuitive, non-confusing use case:

    • Record 4 Noir kicks to a single wav, with modulated variations.
    • Set the four sampler slot ranges to the different kicks
    • Use some randomizer script to tell Poly which pattern to use

The structure of the loop would stay the same, but you’d get a randomized round robin sampler.

I think the search in the docs is a bit janky. It doesn't actually show you the search term, but it shows the section where the term is. So I searched for "Beat Skip" and it showed me the "Left Hand Parameters" section. Clicking on that leads to the info you actually want.> @ExAsperis99 said:

Being able to switch samples per step would be awesome a la Elektron. I was actually thinking this was a feature already, but would be very happy if this were added in the future.

Aah, the “Left Hand Parameters” Section wasn’t showing for me earlier. Maybe it took some time to go live. Search term works now. Thanks for the added info. Great update!🙂👍

  • Hey @JSMilton i think and assume it has been asked before but will you give to this app some universal love at some time? Would love to use my phone to drive my Digitone for instance ;)

Universal support is definitely coming. I'm actually going to start on it in coming weeks now that I've got the current app in a decent place. Might be a while though as it's gonna be a challenge to squeeze the main page onto an iPhone SE!

  • Awesome! Thanks for the headsup man!

Guys, is anybody facing a problem with state saving in AUM? After some of recent updates, Poly in AUM loads empty - no nodes, scenes of midi mapping. It happened both with new and old projects that worked perfectly week ago.
P.S. Sorry for my english and thank James for this brilliant app. It delivers so much fun both as a sequencer and as a sampler and slowly became my main sequencer in AUM.

Yeh there seems to be a bug with AU state saving. I got another report of it yesterday. I'm gonna take a look tonight after work so hopefully I'll have fix out in the next few days. Glad you're enjoying the app anyway!

    Looking for update, thanks!

  • That's a great update, might actually get me to use IAA but then I could use Patterning which I rarely use with IAA. Man, I wish there was multi-out for AUs.

    Yup multi-outs is super sweet.

  • Also, supports Ableton Link start/stop, that's huge.

  • Are program changes working for patterns working? Tried in standalone and AU and I can't get it to work.

Hey @auxmux, I'm just testing this now in standalone and it seems to be working fine. I'm sending PC messages from Logic to Poly over the Network MIDI session and it's all good. Can you give me some details on your setup and I'll dig a little deeper?

  • Any issues with CPU spikes after the update?
I’m trying to run Poly2 / Mononoke / Touchscaper and cant do it without crackles. Not saying it’s Poly 2, just trying to figure it out

I profiled it before releasing and it was the same as the previous version. There shouldn't be any huge spikes. Then again I don't test on a wide range of hardware so I'd never rule it out. If you're running in AUM you can see the CPU usage so I'd isolate each one and have a look at what happens. If you're finding it's Poly I'd be very interested and would certainly take a look at it.

  • Thanks @JSMilton / I had to shut it down after testing a bit because family showed up. I’ll be able to test it more after work today and let you know.

    Super awesome updates...

I begged for the multiple out change because I know that for apps like SeekBeats and patterning it transforms possibilities by several orders of magnitude...

  • @JSMilton All good. User error. Here's my latest using Poly2 as MIDI drum sequencer triggering samples and using program changes to switch patterns.

  • Cracking video from @espiegel123

It has it’s own thread but definitely worth adding here too.
