    It does.
Select the + on the top right.
It’s the first option in the drop down menu.

i use mtr in aum mostly to sample stuff. you can sample a bunch of sources into one instance of mtr in to multiple tracks or the same track then use those sounds elsewhere, any granular synth, evolver, or as one shots in other aps, its quick and easy to record and export especially if you want to record layers to edit later then recombine, but you can export as a mix down instead of stems from mtr if you prefer

    ...

  • @AudioGus yes you can, but it will adjust the volume of any clip in that lane / track... the normalize he was doing was just for one clip that he recorded into that track

Cool, well I guess it is mainly file management that I am wondering about at this point. I will probably just get it. I got space issues to figure out next heh. 250gigs of 256 used up!

  • I wish it didn't downsample files to 16bit and allowed files to be easily accessible in Files app.

    eek!

Yah this pre-NS2-audio tracks workaround has me wondering if I should. I just don't want to build up a bunch of tracks and then find myself in a cumbersome painted corner later requiring a bunch of clunky export/import. Still that is kind of iOS life down any rabbit hole it seems.

So I got it... does it actually not support 44khz wavs?

Edit: woah this is super buggy splitting clips. I get these empty phantom clips on the timeline that I can’t move, select or delete.

Also, I can split clips to shorter than a bar but you can’t manually resize them then as it forces them to be a minimum one bar length. So clunky.

It also keeps moving clips slightly that I do not even have selected.

Yep. Those are bugs I reported months ago. Haven't used it since the last update, disappointed to see they're still in there.

4Pockets are in my naughty folder. I refuse to buy any of the new apps they churn out every month until they fix this one.

Does it not work with 44.1 kHz? I have been curious about this app for putting together rhythm tracks to jam to, but if it doesn't work at 44.1kHz I can't use it.

  • Zenbeats. Free. Audio tracks. Trim. Split. Stretch. Etc. 😉

I tried it and stopped at not being able to automate AUs via their UI. It is still on my radar though!

OK weird... at the moment it looks like if I add Mutlitrack recorder to a blank scene in NS2 (Which runs at 44khz) Multitrack AU initialy sets itself up at 48khz, which causes imported 44khz samples to import at 48khz and play back wrong . However, if after adding Multitrack Recorder I select 'New Song' within Multitrack Recorder it then assigns the same rate as NS2 (in this case 44 khz) and all is well from that point on. So not a fatal flaw from the looks of it, but still a flaw and something to be mindful of when using it.

Yah they do have a certain grimey quantity/quality ratio that makes me really kick the tires and ask questions before jumping in. The more it costs and the more complex it looks the more skeptical I am. All in all I may get some use out of this but it will be very temporary I am sure.

@MonzoPro Believe it or not 4Pockets is a one man operation I as him the other night. Yes I think he needs to slow down now on new apps and spend a bit of time fixing things. He is very prolific in app production I hate to think the hours he puts in.

I am sure it is a tricky balance given app store economics etc.

It doesn't really describe this particular case but it clearly is an 'area of interest'

  • Thinking about getting this- I don’t think there’s anything quite like it.
Is it unworkable and next to useless with the (in particular splitting) bugs- or is it only an occasional issue. How often does the split/cut bug become an issue?
Some people seem to love it whilst others have put it down for now. Are the people who like it not doing much splitting? Or what’s the story?

It really depends who you ask. I don't have a lot of problems with it, but use it only occasionally. Too many have given up on it to ignore though. If I didn't already own it, I'd only buy it if I was willing to write it off as a bad decision if it didn't work out.

That said, I wouldn't give it up at this point. It suits my needs.

So would it be right to say when you you do or have been using it you are able to merrily cut and slice without too much of a problem? I think I might roll the dice tomorrow.... barring any contrary advice appearing 🤔
I’m getting the sense that the bugs are more of an occasional irritation as opposed to anything too destructive.
I’d be interested to know how many people have had experience of the unable to delete phantom clip scenario.

I'll try to spend some more time with it this evening and report back.

  • Very kind of you- thanks very much. I’ll hang off till I hear your thoughts 😃

  • I mainly use it as a scratchpad to assemble little sections of arrangements in AUM so that I can record a new section alongside.

Not sure I’d ever try to finish a track with it but it’s useful for basic multi tracking before dropping the stems into something more robust (Auria in my case, but whatever floats your own boat)
