That's the best news ever! I know I haven't shared how to use it in detail yet, but I will soon, promise.
About the record mode, the idea is - like you creating a rhythm with snapping or clapping your hands - just tap the toolbar and create the pattern. Then fire it up with some chords or notes, bam! That's one of the most exciting and unique features of RhythmBud offering.
@cem_olcay Ok that sounds so cool didn’t realise that’s what record did no wonder I was confused, maybe you could move the record mode to the bottom of the list or turn the mode functions into colour buttons record being in Red for a better GUI.
A little reminder - if you are testing RhythmBud, could you please check out the "Tutorial" section on the standalone app and let me know if it's helpful or not? Also, it's supporting AUv3, Audiobus, IAA, and CoreMIDI (standalone) modes, check 'em all!
@cem_oIcay I tried out the tutorial bit very helpful I think I needed it ! 👍
@cem_olcay Ref record maybe have the message on the open screen. “Tap out Rhythm to record” when record mode is set.
That would make clearer as “tap to record” to me at least means tap just once!
It was that bit that was confusing me.
I feel like I’m playing musical morse code with this thing. Take about ABBA SOS !
That's great feedback, thanks, I'll fix it!
Haha that's an accurate comment, I'm really curious what people would create with this tool, the possibilities are endless, especially when you combine it with other great AUv3 apps! I'm really so excited about this one and can't wait for releasing it!
@cem_olcay Moving the transpose slider whilst playing with AUM transport playing I’m getting instant crashes. Had it 2 times now took out Sensual Sax at the same time!
That sounds like a bug that I wouldn't find in a thousand years lol
Thanks!
It fun using the app on a choir sound or sample the transpose each rhythm block by a set amount works well with Roli Noise app.
Genius! BTW - I'm working on an algorithm for the "strum" effect. Considering to adding a new strum mode which would take an "offset" input from you in the toolbar (with a slider) and strum the notes according to that offset. How about that?
Here’s a first play inside AUM with Noise just basic stuff.

That sounds fab great for guitar sounds.
@cem_olcay I cannot make the ratchet works in any way
Is it possible for you to recording a video? I can make ratchets in AUM and standalone versions fine. You may found a bug or something, a video would very helpful for understanding the issue
Ok
Thanks! BTW - a quick debug trick:
It’s ready, I changed my mind...

Ok, I made another short video, this time following your instructions, ratchet 2 and 3 now work but 4 doesn’t.
I think it would be nice if it will possible to erase each single bar and not the entire session.
That's so strange. What kind of synth are you using? Maybe because of the attack/decay times of your synth the ratchets are not heard? Can you try the same configuration with a piano, or with a shorter attack and decay?
The synth is D1 by Audiokit. In the first video is Zeeon. I tried now with a piano preset and it doesn’t work anymore, not even ratchet 2 and 3.

Just highlight a step and then hit the trashbin.. if there's nothing chosen, it will clear the whole pattern.
Edit: long-press on the step and you then get a pop-up option to delete
Not here, it always clear all, and the undo doesn’t work in this case.
@Faland Ah yeah sorry.. longpress on the step and you then get a popup option to delete
Oh OK, that made it more clear, I just found the bug. Notes are hung when you change the ratchet while transport is running. Thanks for the video and the bug hunt!
Ah, thank you!
I'm working on the new "strum mode" and it's amazing! I made a quick demo video, check this out:
BTW - I fixed a lot of bugs you reported yesterday, I'll release a new testflight build soon with the new strum mode.
@cem_olcay Looking forward to trying it out. Any chance for a fix for ScaleBud as shown in your video getting instant crashes loading in AUM latest iOS iPad Pro 9.7.
That's so strange. It's working just fine on my iOS13 iPad and iPhone. Does anyone else get crashes on ScaleBud?
Also, can you try deleting and installing it again?
Swing would be really great for this.
I wonder how hard it is to make it slow down during the strum to sound more natural.
Like when you play a piano or a guitar, often the strum of a chord slows down as it gets near the end of the strum.
Makes me wonder if you could have an accelerator or de- accelerator % dial ?
Another great Bud app
