Indeed i found that BM3 ableton link does not sync correctly with ableton, it goes out if you move the tempo on ableton. I did report the issue.

Okay cool.
Good to know.
I've been trying to sync it with Patterning and Quantiloop.
Is there any way to offset it do you know?
Nope, i don’t think it works that way to my knowledge. Egoist has the same issue, AUM is spot on and I used AUM as a reference. If you move the tempo down in ableton rather quick the sync goes out.

I thought so.
A pity.
Running BM3, Patterning and Quantiloop in sync would've been great.
Heading back in.
Try MIDI clock. Works much better for me anyway. Some people need to add Audiobus in between when working on the same iDevice.
I much prefer ableton link when available as there is no jitter in the recording. Cheers
Also Ableton link works great with AUM and Ableton live for recording 👍
Try Quantiloop as a clock master > Audiobus (just to be sure) > BM3 and Patterning as clock receivers. If I had jitter, I wouldn't use MIDI clock, believe me
Lets not highjack the discussion about midi clock as it is working in BM3 apparently, the issue is BM3 and ableton link sync not working correctly.
I don’t use audiobus in my set up and midi clock has jitter but we had discussions that before on other posts.
@rs2000
Okay.
Using MIDI Clock.
AUM as the sender
Quantiloop, Patterning both start and stop at the same time.
Timing is consistent.
BM3 no joy.

Starting BM3 and Quantiloop using the AUM transport works.
I have to start Patterning manually as it doesn't recognise Ableton start/stop.
Still, saying that it now loops in the correct place.
Ok, are you using ableton live aswell?
@[Deleted User]
No Ableton Live.
Only iOS apps.
OK, the link syncing issue i found with BM3 involved tempo change in ableton live.
Interesting. I'll try this combo later.

I changed the Ableton tempo using my iPhone
running BM3, Quantiloop and Patterning 1
on my iPad and it changed smoothly.
@rs2000
Looking forward to your results.
send Patterning 1 MIDI clock and you can start/stop the transport globally (at least that is the case with Audiobus 3 in the mix).
@espiegel123
Good suggestion.
Switched off Ableton Link and switched on
inter-app Audio sync in Patterning
It's now working using BM3 and AUM's transport start and stop.
Thanks for that.
The configuration for now.
BM3, Quantiloop, AUM sync using Ableton Link
Patterning 1 sync using inter-app audio sync
Surprise: MIDI clock in Quantiloop Pro seems to be broken. No matter what I did, i couldn't make it sync with anything. It can't even send clock to external hardware, but receiving clock works. Weird.
Loopy HD worked instantly together with BM3, nothing else needed.
Any rumors on next BM3 bug fix update ?
So what happens if BM3 and quantiloop are used on their own with ableton link? Does that work?
@[Deleted User]
Both BM3 and Quantiloop sync using
Ableton Link with or without AUM.
Both start and stop.
Adjusted the tempo and they keep in sync.
Really started to spend sometime on bm3 lately
Still hit the save button every minute or so, had a few crashes
But the battery drain is emence, only getting about an hour before reaching for the power pack
Is it just me, or same for others ?
And will it be addressed
Do you have background audio on?
I’ve had BM3 on my iPad over night and still had plenty of juice. Even with background audio on you shouldn’t have to charge after an hour. I think thus issue is related to your hardware. Even before this update I was running BM3 for some hours easy
I have always had this on iOS with CPU intensive projects, regardless of the host. After about 45min commuting I am easily around 50% battery.
I don't know what's going on but all my projects are CPU intensive and I got plenty of time with the previous version. Now with the ability to set background audio to off I can leave it on overnight and pick back up in the morning. No issue
O Lucky Man.
Yah makes sense I guess. I never actually had an issue with it. I just accept that the battery gets used.
Interestingly enough my iPad's battery life
has improved since iOS 13.2.2.
Yes 13.2.2 definitely made a difference.
I also need to state that I don't have bluetooth and any other things that drain battery on.
