  • Lumbeat Jazz Drummer.
    If that’s your thing

  • In my black friday list I put 20 candidate apps. None of them went on sale. All right therefore...

  • Noir was the only BB app I didn't have and it doesn't disappoint, great synth engine and sequencer :)

  • It’s still Thursday here in Europe

So it looks like FabFilter and Sugar Bytes are only doing Black Friday deals on their desktop offerings this year, and not on their apps, which is a shame.

is that from the ‘horses mouth’ ie: twitter, email correspondence etc.. or just that they haven't jumped on yet? the only app i want that is too pricey ( for me personally ) to catch full price is Effectrix .. why would they do desktop but not ios... oh yes, that’s right MARGINS! makes sense i suppose . still , I’m sure the fabfilter bundle went down £8 from £69 to £61 .. which is ridiculous as that gets me the other 5 plug ins (£170 aprox) for £61... i don’t really need any of them but its become so annoyingly tempting i might buy just to be rid of the minx temptress..

Not from the horse’s mouth, just an observation. It turned out to be wrong anyway as I’ve just bought Effectrix at half-price. I’m not seeing a sale on the FF bundle yet but will check again.

i guess we both refreshed the app store at the same time.. the FF bundle, i think, has remained on sale since last time.. it’s write up still says SALE UNTIL SEPT 1ST !! :). i can!t see it going down any further at my end.. but it does make it awkward if you just want one or two of the blighters.. wait that is the price of 2 of ‘em!!

  • Can you please predict the Tory party will win the uk election :-)

  • Syntorial half price till Monday. I think you have to buy it through the web store (rather than via IAP) to get the deal; the purchase gives you the app on all platforms with a code for the iOS full version.
    https://www.syntorial.com/buy-now/

Also, just confirmed that on Orb Composer all the starving students and underpaid educators out there can use the educational discount (30%) in addition to with the Black Friday deal (50%) to knock the price down to a very tempting 35% of the full whack:

Don't most of the DAWlike apps support sidechaining on native plugins? Or do you mean the Auria exclusive versions of Fabfilter effects for example?

Do they? Can you sidechain in Cubasis or GarageBand or Gadget?

But yes, I do mean the Auria Store version of the FabFilter plugins.

Gadget has sidechain in the mixer IFX. NS2 does sidechain and I presume BM3 does too. I don’t use Cubasis or Garageband at all so I wouldn’t know about those.

In NS, you add a send on a channel and set the target to a compressor on another. Easy 🙂

I'll have to give that a go, thanks :)

  • Is Egoist worth getting at £17.99? I've had it on my radar for a while, but now it's here, and having just bought Electribe Wave, I'm wondering what do do!

Funnily enough I genuinely believe they will (and I say that as a Corbyn supporter). I will be delighted if this prediction turns out to be as bad as the Sugar Bytes one.

you can ‘sort of’ side chain in cubasis using the apematrix Send-Recieve au.. but it won’t truely be useful until they give us pre/post effects chain setting.. seems a simple thing, not sure why they haven’t done that yet?

I was just about to post a link dear boy, but you’ve beaten me to it - you rotter. Do tell me how you get on with it, there’s a good chap (in Viv Stanshall voice).

Recently have been digging into it and really ‘digging it’. Not my kind of thing, I thought, but man is it ever fun and engaging. I’d recommend it if you’ve got the bux.

Often left out of the comparisons, but Multitrackstudio is the only iOS DAW which supports AU sidechaining so far I think.

Absolutely. It’s a great app, you have to understand how it works, nothing too steep, and then just have fun!
