    With you on this one.

Thank you all, that's reassuring! My iPhone 7 Plus has been a train wreck since moving to iOS13 (mostly mail-related issues) so I've been really reluctant to move my main music platform but it sounds like music apps are generally not a problem and I am looking forward to some of those new features, especially files and mouse control...

But as soon as Synthmaster One and Synth One appeared on the scene, they prematurely stole Mood and Zeeon’s thunder.

Mood and Zeeon are still my choice over SM1 and Synth One for "beefy analog".
That's not to say that SM1 couldn't do it, i just find them more accessible, especially Zeeon is really fun to program and sounds incredible.

I just fired up SM1 last night for the first time in ages. It is a great synth and can do an incredible amount of things but the menus are very fiddly. I still teach for Zeeon and mood more regularly just because it's so much easier to get a great sound quickly.

Zeeon really is the gift that keeps giving. Every time I need a sound I can't quite get with another synth, Zeeon ALWAYS delivers. ALWAYS

  • Looks like all Nikolozi Pty Ltd apps are on sale. Might have to get all of them.

I've recently posted this "iOS synths are not that bad" demo but I haven't told anybody yet that...

    ... this is Zeeon only.

Please consider flagging this issue in the Synthmaster One thread as the developer appears skeptical that there are any issues with app.

I don't know if it's an ISSUE, necessarily - I just don't like them is really the problem. All the functionality is hidden deep within menus and I don't find the layout all that intuitive.

That being said, if you've got the patience you can coax some nice sounds out of it. For me, Zeeon & mood (admittedly VERY different synths) are more instantly gratifying for me.

The dev has discussed updates to the UI in that thread as well as the iPhone version for $1.99 at launch to be fair. Honestly I don’t find it all that fiddly on my iPad now and I’m old! Looking forward to the update.

Thank you for your response. Im following that thread as best I can.

I’m on an iPad 12.9” and the menus are incredibly fiddly, with or without the Apple Pencil, with or without fingers. It takes multiple presses/taps to make selections, and the targeting is off. It reminds of the issues people experienced with iWavestation when it first came out and Axon. I simply don’t use the app because of the issue, but I hope things improve some day. It makes designing sounds tedious and frustrating.

I thought you were referring to the fact that it takes multiple taps/attempts to select a menu item.

You might want to post a video of the issues over in the SynthMaster thread. Since a lot of people don’t have this problem, it is helpful to demonstrate it to the developer. Many times devs get reports about problems and can’t reproduce them or can’t tell from the written report what is going on. In such cases, videos are super helpful.

  • And the Bleass bundle is available.... with discounts applied

Of course. I’ve considered it but finding the time to do it is hard. With two kids under four I barely have time to work on my own projects. It’s on my list of things I’d like to do during my music breaks but it often gets pushed to the bottom.

I helped somewhat on the beta and it has a great unique sound. I never got around to buying it at the time. I have a real CZ-1 so i do like that flavour. Great glide on it and 16 voice poly if you want.

The best FM synthesis app on IOS. Very underrated. The interface is great, and it's so easy to sculpt a sound using it. Closest thing to operator on IOS.

And even closer to NI FM7/FM8! The touchable FM-OP matrix and the OP envelope modules alone are worth the price. For preset junkies, KQ Dixie is great but if you create your own FM sounds (which is hard enough already) then NFM is very helpful and faster to program.
Got NPD too and so far they look like easy-to-use and great-sounding synths.

This is a really useful app. I got it for free, but would definitely pay $4.99 for it. Maybe not $9.99 though.

It's a little tough on CPU, so more useful for spot stuff and with freezing tracks than something you'd want to throw on every drum track. But only because of the CPU hit. Otherwise, it could easily go on every drum track I do.

It’s good. My main criticism is I keep looking for it on my iPhone before remembering its iPad only. Not sure why it’s not universal, the UI should fit on a phone without too much hassle! ;-)

  • What’s happening with the bundles...? (Oh well I’m probably the only one!)

  • Any reason to get BLEASS filter or delay if you already have Filterstation2 and a billion delays?

  • Who needs a reason?😉

How would you compare its ease of use to the Digitone? I love my DN and would love an app similar to it. I find KQ Dixie unenjoyable to use.
