  • I’m going to try and get hold of the developer and see if they are up for making this more of a loop finder than just a sample player. The name and description is actually a bit misleading currently. Ideally it would scavenge your audio files and let you preview them when adding them to pads. That would make this app worthwhile for me (and what I thought it was).

    Wish me luck.

  • if it automatically finds zero cross points that would be cool

Looks interesting but I do not see any Groove/Swing options in Quantize also no effects

I think I can do way more with Koala.
    What do you think?

    I have Auditor, too.
Not sure if this app could do anything those 2 couldn’t.

Koala and Auditor together cover what Loop Find currently does. What would be nice to see is some more sample control, like well, Samplr. At the least, a full sized waveform and Keyboard for playing the samples.

I refuse to say Anyang bad against this app since it isn’t bad at all.
I do feel I’ve duplicate abilities in other apps I already have.

Yeah, I am not trying to say anything bad, either.
I just went from being really excited (a sample librarian app?), to confused (not what I expected, but still interesting?), to a little bummed (aww, I can already do all that).

Still, I will still probably grab it later. It looks pretty cool. Just trying to save my funds for some good sales right now, but I would have bought this already if it was the sample librarian app I was hoping for.

Yes, there is no AU or IAA...only standalone. But this is not a problem because the purpose of this app is different. This is an app that let you create loops based on your samples library. You can load several samples (a lot) and manipulate each sample (select the part you want, reverse, effects, etc) and then record a pattern (quantized). When you are happy with the pattern, you can export your loop (wav format) and use it where you want. Really nice and clever piece of software that will help you better exploit your existing material

    And it is universal...

    [edit] however a bit buggy...

True, the whole obsession with AU and link even for apps that don’t need it gets crazy at times. Surely some decent export options would be enough.

  • Version 1.0.1 is out:

    What's new

    • Added optimizations.
    • Added erase mode.
    • Adjusted UI.
    • Adjusted Icon.

speaking of Auditor. does it have timestretch and pitchshift integrates yet?

  • Oh. This sounded like it would have entire access to the iOS filesystem, recognize all audio files, and curate (potentially interesting) snippets for you.

The developer emailed me back and is mulling over options.

  • This looks really fun and well put together. Is it possible to zoom and/or destructively trim a sample within a sample pad? Main use case I'm thinking of is if you load a two minute sample but only want to mess with 2 bars—can you zoom in to set the two bars easily? Or trim it somewhat close to the region you want, then the waveform rezooms, trim, rezoom... sorta like the digitakt sample editor.

  • I had suggested here in the forum an ability to zoom into the waveform (full or almost fullscreen) to edit but as of now no zoom and no destructive edit.

  • timestretch pls :)

  • Version 2.0 is out, with support for Auv3 Effects and landscape mode:

    • [Adj] Improves CPU performance.
    • [Adj] Improves Anti-Aliasing.
    • [Add] Support for AUv3 Effects.
    • [Add] Support for landscape mode.
    • [Adj] UI changes (blinky backlights, more readable text, ...)
    • [Fix] New Session load table crash.
    • [Fix] Recorder rounding error.
  • First I heard of it is it any good ?

  • Hmmm, I don't have this app yet...
I might get it at some point. It's almost like a 'visual tracker' since each pad can have it's own trigger sequence.
    (Need to investigate deeper).

  • Strange, can't find any videos of the app anywhere :D

  • A few more demo videos would be useful.

Rotating the iPad images so that you can see them in the description seems to be too much work, I doubt a video would be watchable haha.

    😁

  • The developer seems committed to improving it, shouldn’t be too much trouble to show some videos of it in use, too so buyers can get a sense of what it does.

  • It’s a strange one. Spend ages making an app. Quickly post a video and show it off it for on YouTube etc. Sell more?
It doesn’t need a polished production- just show the people what it can do.

There's a free "Loop Find Lite" in the app store now:

    https://apps.apple.com/app//id1506466681

  • I've very close to taking the plunge and get this one considering how much I use SquareSynth already this might be a good companion...

But before I do, can it be loaded as AUV3 in the FX slot or in the output slot in AB3?
(This would allow easier sampling of other apps which would be pretty handy).

  • No love for both Aum and Audiobus output slot as I can see.

  • edited April 2020

Hey I’m the developer. Is there interest for Audiobus with this? I’m curious about how I can help people integrate this into their workflow better.

@Samu: it will probably never be an AUv3 extension, because it’s an AUv3 host for effects. There are other reasons.

The new version lets you turn to landscape mode and show the waveform zoomed in really big. I’d like to add some crop functionality.

That’s great input. I had a very similar idea when conceiving this thing. I’ll work on making it easier to set loop points precisely.

I’ve just released a free demo version, so you can see if you like it.

AudioBus would be good. So we can record our creations into a recording app. But exporting should work as well. Gonna give it a go in the free version Now, but When I press FX, I only see the X in the corner and the screen is greyed out. No way to load an fx
