    Meme pretty please.

Careful what you wish for / Ask and you shall receive.

  • I appreciate the synth renaissance B is helping power, but I personally wouldn't spend $ on anything there's a software emulation of if that emulation is 90% as good, or better. The Moog D is one of those - The Legend has had 8 voices for awhile now, and even Monark added voices. Yeah, knobs are good i suppose, but I'd get a diff hardware synth with no emulation, and just map the knobs as needed.

Yeah, the cloned Moogs don't inspire me. It's been cloned so much, and have all the software equivalents. Give me a cheaper Buchla clone instead. 😁

So is the Poly D just a Parody? (Para D)?

Maybe they could come out with a Dolly Parton tribute, The Dolly D (because she has a Pair-o-Ds)!

If Behringer fails, at the funeral they will be delivering a Uli-G.

    :D

The French model is called Vanessa (Para D...)

They've also released a clone of the Wasp. They're releasing synths faster than 4pockets release plug-ins! ;-)

Funny how the old stuff comes around again, but with new knickers on.

My mate bought a Wasp when it came out, it was shite and comprehensively ridiculed by the rest of the band with their shiny Moogs, Rolands and Korgs.

    Thomas says grab it!

Something like the Erica Systems Pico III might tide you over for a time...?

Hah, yup. It's on the wish list, maybe microvolt 3900 first.

  • This looks sick, but unfortunately it's not on my Christmas list. Besides, I already have the monophonic one...

I hope that Behringer releases a fully polyphonic synth in the same form factor as the Model D, Wasp, Pro-1, MS-20, etc. I like that size a ton. I also heard that there's rumors of a Mono/Poly clone - that would be incredible.

  • $699 per Nick. More like a limited Matriarch. I would have preferred they went up to a grand and added some patch points. Sounds good, still meh.

A Mono/Poly, Synthi or Buchla clone may tip me over the edge

    .

  • I notice that in the video while using arp (5m 0s) and changing the key on the keyboard at times the high note is inverted with the low note which sounds totally wrong to me. I've always had this issue with various arps. I've tried to hit the key slightly before and slightly behind the beat and I still haven't found a reliable way to make it stay consistent throughout the riff. Does anyone know the secret to get a reliable outcomes?

  • That autodamp function is awesome

hope they do a version without the keyboard

Isn't the keyboard + layout the whole point of this one?

I think it is. I wouldn't get one of these - this is just too too much for me (and I'm not a B hater, I have the D and the Neutron) . At least the Boog was a different form factor and all that. Ick. Not to mention - I don't need it!!!! hehehehehehehehehe

A lot is going to depend on how they price this one IMO. This would make sense to me under $500 (US) for classic looks + controller + para D style synth package. Above that, I wouldn't say it's too much: it doesn't look like enough! (Heck, I find the Microfreak to be a much more powerful synth. Even $500 is a lot for this..)

Of note: the effect package they went for is a lot less powerful than what they put in their Odyssey. Might be a hint that they are looking to keep this cheap?

the reissue minimoog will put you back nearly 4000 dollars, the poly D will be more than 500 dollars, rumour is 700-900 dollars.

It's interesting. The problem with 700-900 is that, if this is indeed paraphonic (and not polyphonic), it lands between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand, you get the US made Moogs: especially the Sub Phatty for bass and leads, and the Grandmother. On the other, you get true poly synths like the Minilogue XD.

    Agree
    $500
    Tops

    Tough crowd

  • 699 euro..... incredible price although I still cant afford it :-(

  • edited November 2019

So turns out you were right! But damn, just in terms of their own line that's almost the price of the Odyssey (or deepmind 6) + desktop model D. (Ofc, the ultimate poly D killer will probably become Keystep + model D + Korg NTS-1.)

  • edited November 2019

Although I like the idea and it looks like a ton of fun ( you should have seen my face when I saw/heard the chorus!) for $598.00 US I would rather get the Deepmind 12D ....memory!

yep, its into a different price bracket and i don't think its price will lower for a long time. I'm absolutely stoked this synth is a reality :-)

Ummmmm.....since when did not needing something become an issue???? 😂😂😂😂😂
Seriously, I definitely would get it depending on how much it cost, cause I definitely don’t have the money to drop on a real Moog Model D ( and what’s the harm in slapping a couple Moog stickers on the Poly D???? Lol )

Being an old school Whitehouse fan, I am excited about the Behringer Wasp clone.
Also, for the first time in history, Behringer’s build quality will be far superior to that of the original. There is no way that can be avoided.

    Excellent.
    Thanks!

  • The funny thing about the Wasp clone is that it got me interested in the lineage of the Wasp, and then the OSCar and so on, and the Novation Basstation Rack I used to have (excellent unit) and the Circuit that stares at me now.
