Side note: if you like Skinny Puppy, you MUST listen to the band/artist Dead When I Found Her.
Thanks all of you for the trip down memory lane
Still speaking of ministry @AudioGus et al, how do you suggest I’d go about making some similar guitar sounds?
I know it’s sampled power chords, and I could always sample it, but what about generating the sounds, do you have any recommendations about guitar/distortion apps to get a similar sound?
Seems like a cool project for the weekend
Michael of DWIFH is a very talented dude. He joined a couple of compilations I put together through the years.
You should check out Cardinal Noire @vitocorleone123 ... trust me
They also made the best MINISTRY cover anyone will ever make
Lead Singer Kalle appeared on two albums for me & us
Yup’
Fave album actually!

All the Jello and Al G projects
I saw them live, together with à;Grumh... and Severed Heads. Quite an unique concert. Ugly, loud, obscene. Except for Severed Heads, they were simply beautiful and mesmerising. After the concert, à;Grumh... and Skinny Puppy were forbidden to perform at this place forever. Rightfully so in my opinion. Some stage show elements were very disgusting.
Today I still like to listen to one or two Skinny Puppy tracks from the early years, but after 1986 the entire Industrial and Wave scene has been gone anyway.
My crunchy guitar days were a while ago and I mainly used the fx on my Yamaha A3000 for that. I have been meaning to get back into it for a while now though and do have the original Tonestack Motherload bundle so would be starting there. Looks like there has been two big bundles since then but the Metal Bundle (around 10$?) may be a good kick off.
I'm here!
Hah! awesome, it’s like the Red Dead Redemption version.
Hahaha, good example
Caught SP live in spring of 1987 and safe to say I haven't seen a show like it before or since. Also haven't listened to a single note of recorded music of theirs since. Can't say whether the two are related or not.
Never much into Puppy (ministry though YES!). I still find it kinda odd that Dave "the rave" Ogilvie went on to produce "Call me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen.
Whaaaaaat?
He mixed THAT song?
There’s a glitch in the matrix.
I know right? I have a hard time believing it
Fantastic job man!!!
I understand it’s a business but my heart sank when I originally heard about it.
He also talked shit about Sp getting back together in 2004. Said “Let sleeping dogs lie”
Thanks! It was fun to put together and of course pay tribute. Turned out great. My contributions are the Verin tracks
