Just bought the app on iPhone and realized I probably should’ve waited until I got my iPad.

Question: is there a way to have a track record automatically when sound is detected? Auto record ?

Right now, it looks like I just have to hit a button and wait for the countdown clock, then try to time everything perfectly.

Not right now, but I’m working on this for the next update.

    Auto record is huge!

Everyone and @danielfromcodalabs i literally just learned about this today and am really excited, having just returned my Boss RC 505 this week in favor of an iOS looping setup!

I’m going to buy it once I get me iPad this week (I’m only on phone now), but I’m curious:

Through audio bus, can I play synth or guitar in another app and have that feed into a track here? With no lag or stutter when switching apps?

Since I play a lot of guitar and can’t easily stop a verse track from recording and starting a new chorus or bridge track handsfree in a live looping situation ... Is there a way to use the iRig blueboard footswitch (or other) to stop and start some or all tracks? My dream is to hit one button to tell track one to stop recording at the end of the loop and auto start recording track 2 once track 1’s Loop is over. Ie, one click near the end of track1 gets me ready to record the chorus of a song, for example, hands free one track 2.

Effects I hope are in there or added soon:

    • is there panning delay? (Stereo auto panning or just manual per track left or right pan)
    • Is there a stop/scratch effect (zip sound to shut everything off suddenly)
    • splicer (chops all tracks into rythymic stutter patterns

I bet I’m going to give this 5⭐️

    Hi,

Yes you can record whatever you want through Audiobus without any lag or stutter. You can also use L7 in AUv3 mode in AUM or GarageBand and not have to switch apps.

Right now, you can start / stop recording loops with a MIDI controller like the Blueboard. I’m working on a feature that will automatically overdub a recorded track or create new tracks continuously until you tell it to stop. That should make it easier to get a lot of loops recorded quickly without having to trigger all of them yourself.

Also working on multi-out audio, so you can use whatever AUv3 effects you want on each track.

For sure. It’s been a popular request :)

Is it difficult to implement after the fact?

Shouldn’t be too hard. The challenging part is usually designing UI that is easy to figure out.

How about midi control for the AU3? Is that coming?

Yes I’m planning on squeezing that into the next update as well.

  • @danielfromcodalabs

Would you be able to add sync to host?

  • @danielfromcodalabs will you consider implementing song sections (or groups) in future updates?

Maybe not this next update, but probably the one after.

That’s not on the radar right now, sorry. I would recommend Group The Loop for that.

  • @danielfromcodalabs thanks for your answer

Incredible! To this an automatic overdub mode and you just climbed the steps to my favorite looper app throne 🙌🏼 Awesome! Keep up the homeoffice 👊🏼😁

  • Just got it.
Works well- though I hadn’t read the thread first- so I was next for a roll on the drums followed by the AU custard pie in the face 🤡

  • I do like it though 🤗

Thanks so much for the awesome reply, Daniel. Really appreciate it, and as promised, I gave you a five star rating on the App Store! Take care.

  • Hi everyone, I just released version 1.4. Enjoy!

    Indeed.

  • I'm glad to see that there's such a thriving and creative ecosystem for live-looping on iOS! Pet peeve, though: no app gets the "ultimate looper" designation in my book if it doesn't replicate the Echoplex Digital Pro feature set for real-time hands-off loop manipulation. It still takes me aback that no one's yet matched that feature set nearly twenty years after its last software revision.

  • @danielfromcodalabs Thank you for the continued tweaks + adding of features.. greatly appreciated.. 👍

I’m so sorry that didn’t make it in this update! Just trying not to break too much at once. It’ll be in there soon 🙂
