First thoughts are that although this sounds great, it does seem very simplistic and lacks some vital features.....which is pretty much what I thought about Tines when it came out, and I now use that a LOT with other FX added, so this will be added to the collection and immediately routed through stark :) along with a lesson about what actually is vital and what’s not :D

:D what a rollercoaster of a review. I felt the same way about Tines back then so I guess this plus Doug's video will push me over the edge.

An update to this...no iPhone version ? Damn, that lowers it's 'review score' a bit. :(

i know.. weird ain’t it.. after all Galileo2 is iphone compat and thats an infinitely more complex interface,
have Klevgr. got lazy ? the last couple of apps have not been universal whereas before everything was ( i think ). this Hillman ( my dad had a Hillman Imp,, what a shed !! :) interface seems perfect for phones .. was going to hit this but the phone thing has put me off ( not that i would use it that much on the phone )
    strange sales strategy..

My Dad used to have a Hillman Avenger :P

Hey, we've got the whole set! Grew up with the family car being a Hillman Husky and then we graduated to a Hillman Hunter which ended up being my first car (Fireapple Red) until a pack of skinheads jumped up and down on its roof (a lot) while it was parked down by the river in Twickenham and that was the last Hillman for me. Until now :)

I used to have a mate here, a Hells Angel, who told me he’d bought one to cut up and use the chassis for the base of a new trike he was building.

He asked me to give him a hand, and when I got there, instead of the cutting tools and torches, he handed me an axe.

I’d like to tie this up as a really smart story and say ‘actually we did a really good job’, but after a couple of bottles of vodka and 30 minutes axe hysteria the Imp was about as much use as a prime minister hiding in a fridge.

Sounds like fun :) And talking of cutting up a Hillman

@JohnnyGoodyear - then we graduated to a Hillman Hunter which ended up being my first car (Fireapple Red)

@LeeB - My first set of wheels when learning to drive was also a Hillman Hunter in a nasty dull orange 🙁

30 years or more ago I knew a guy who had a Hunter, in Diamond White....he had fitted a Rover V8 engine, and added box arches....very nice car :)

i quite fancy this Hillman Minx ( saucy! ) Dads Army style van conversion up on the Bay of E .. only 7k , i guess you can make that money back on it renting to film/tv/dads army conventions etc :)

I love this kind of suggestion. I somehow forget I have 10,000 FX apps that force-multiply any sound, but even when I remember I get a bit lost with what to try. Off to have a noodle.

I haven’t got Hillman but I bet Reelbus is chocolate and peanut butter.

  • Hillman is no intro sale period isn’t it? So I probably wait for some examples. I like their one trick pony’s. @jakoB_haQ album from last year featured Tines many times and it was golden. So Hilman could be something really useful but I want to hear it with other FX routed and real usecases. So I keep my eyes on this thread ;)

According to the App Store description it's 30% off for the intro period.

Thank you. Then I will most likely get it, because in 70% of the cases I was regretting not to jump into the KLEVG stuff because it’s not on sale too often cough reAmp cough

  • Does anyone know how if it's possible to send MIDI data to the hillman using Fugue Machine, Taipei, Xequence, etc? I can get it to work with Rozeta but I'd love to use it with Fugue Machine but it's not showing up under the midi sources. Any ideas? I'm using AB3.

It just works for me in AB3 with Xequence 2 and Fugue Machine, both standalone an AU. Are you sure you're looking in the right place when adding a MIDI source in AB3?

Hmm, okay, it seems I was only using it as an AU. When I use the full app it works fine. I wonder what I’m doing wrong that is making it not work as an AU? I have it set under All Playheads, but I tried it set under 1 and it still didn’t work. This is all in the MIDI menu. And then when I open Fugue Machine and go in to settings there’s nothing there.
