Audio Crackles\Dropouts with Wotja as IAA Source in AUM etc?
Hi Wotja users
I am experiencing audio crackles\dropouts with Wotja as IAA Source in AUM, on an iPad Pro 2017 on iOS 13.2.3
I have set latency to 1024 samples in both apps up the crackles remain.
Is anyone able to get crackle-free audio performance with Wotja as an IAA source? What settings do you use to accomplish this?
Thanks
Richard

Interesting, I haven't been able to find Works in either AUM or AB3. Where are you finding it, and how are you loading it?
Wotja appears as an IAA Audio source in AUM.
I’ve had that problem before and it’s been a while but I think setting everything to 44k is what worked. I think I had to set it to that and restart everything.
That fixed it, thanks!
Thanks I’ll check that.
I found that setting the Wotja audio buffer to 512 samples and 3 audio blocks seems to have done the trick, and also loading some other apps into the AUM set to stabilise the CPU throttling. Not sure how both of those may have contributed to the better performance but seems to be crackle free now.
Yes, buffer tweaking is the fix – this is a longstanding issue that used to be covered on the very useful Wotja forums before they got closed down (ill-advisedly, I thought) when GDPR came in. As the app has got more ambitious the last few years its IAA performance seems to have got flakier; I get awful screeches with the current version in AUM on my jailbroken 12.4, though that may be my system.
Useful thanks.
I tried setting the sample rate and buffer, but all I get is industrial noise, not the soothing ambient I expect.
What is the “3 audio blocks” you are referring to @craftycurate ?
In settings under the gearwheel (top left in the files screen, bottom right in the mix screen). The audio issues are specific to IAA; it should sound as expected in standalone. This page may help:

Ah yes, that did help.
It is working now.
Thank you.

In Settings ... not sure what the blocks are, but lower settings seem to work better:
Ah, I see.
I don’t have the same options, I am using Wotja A 2018.
It doesn’t receive updates.
But for me, I set buffer to 1024 in AUM, and 1000 ( the Max) in Wotja, both set to 44.1 sample rate, and it works now.
Thanks for the pointers.
