iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 11 Pro

  • LOL after all this talk about iPhone 7 plus I traded in mine for a XR and I'm really pleased.
Have gone from 32GB to 128GB. I was always running out of room. Now it's not going to be a problem.

  • I've only had the 11 Pro set up for about a day now so I haven't run it through the paces yet... but the cameras in this thing are really pretty impressive, as is the battery life (as reported)

I still think they're a little over-priced... but considering how good the cameras alone are now.. compared to comparable dedicated still & video cameras, the high price is approaching quite justifiable.

To be honest, for wide-angle photos I'm not sure that there is much point to a DSLR or mirrorless camera anymore, the phone outflanks the other systems thanks to the computational photography (and it's the same for low-light in many cases too).

Rather than a $1000 wide-angle lens, you could just use your phone. For telephoto it's obviously a different story.

I know some purists will go on about shooting in RAW etc... but the highlight retention on modern phones is actually superior to DSLRs now so I'm not convinced.

I'd go with the 11. Just based on the number of apps I can't install on my 7+. iOS related.

  • I’m waiting for WWDC to see if iPhone 8 Plus will be eligible for another year of iOS updates. Don’t want to give up 3D Touch and finger sensor.
