Careful: price could be in the hundreds range

Oh well I planned to buy this once the update hits but I am certainly not willing three times the last price just because I waited. It just feels bad. Sad cause I really wanted to give it a try after seeing Cuckoos video so long ago

It’s a pity, I renounce. If it was auv3 ok then, but just for “adding” an Ableton link, no, not for me, not this time.

  • I think it's the first time app went up in price over years. As an existing user I shouldn't really comment, but isn't it a constant debate about how development should be acknowledged, encouraged etc... how many people wished for an up to date link enabled Samplr "no matter what's the price" the app is older than our devices and now ready for the next decade :)

This update definitely added to its usability, and still one of the most elegant solution for a relatively complex task, along with apps like Borderlands, Sector, Patterning, Gestrument it's worth every penny if this is your type of thing.

    Ahahah nice one.

  • Man, what a week for iPad noise making! Thank you for the update

    Blimey, thirty quid.

Is the update working ok for everyone?

Ignore that, updating anyway, fed up with the import bug..

  • Audio glitch recording in audiobus with new iPad Pro for the sample rate?

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Wowee, that is a lot. Seems like somebody believed the forum's "I'd pay $50 for Samplr today! Twice!" hyperbole. Certainly glad I already have it. But maybe the markup signifies renewed enthusiasm and future updates?

Borderlands and Samplr update in the same week must be rarer than Halley's Comet.. :)

Can't comment for the power users, but all seems well here (and looks lovely)..... isn't @supadom our most vociferous of samplr evangelists?

  • Any iOS 10.3.3 users updated Samplr yet ? Is it working fine? Gotta be so cautious with these iOS frozen iPads..... cheers

Whoa. The price went up by $20. I really should have got the app earlier but I was worried it was abandoned.
    Sigh...

Kinda in the same place. AUv3 and you’d have me no problem, but congrats to the dev for getting that update out! Great news overall.

Don’t think so, I guess he’s trying to recover a bit of extra cash to pay for his time updating it.

On the plus side (for existing users) at least it’s not a completely new app :)

    😋

Bought both in back 2012. Awesome news. Thanks a lot @Marcos!

Can I buy you a Kofi too somehow?

Had a very quick test, the Audioshare ‘open in’ worked for sample import, which is one reason I haven’t been using it.

I’ll give it a twirl tonight. Never got into it, but the Link update might come in handy look.

  • Oh wow. This is huge.

  • I’ll take it for a spin tomorrow...but thanks, always like it when you go all biblical on me! ;)

As for the price, TBH I’d pay £30 for a AUV3 version of it with full midi implementation.

As is I guess it is still a unique and legendary app with arguably the user interface out there.

Also bills are high in old California.

  • Just in case you're from the wilderness here is Sir Doug's Epic Tut from way back when we were younger and still full of wonder:

and, far shorter and more recently, I like what our friendly fruitcake Cuckoo does with it here also:

  • Sometimes I don’t understand the update alert process. Samplr does not appear as an update for me only when I scroll down and open the app itself that it says update. not all apps work this way it’s weird.

Ha! What happened to ‘this is the best sampler ever’ ? $30 isn’t even enough to buy a plugin for the Mac!

For the record I was not complaining about the price.

  • The GOAT get its much-desired update. Thanks @Marcos

Same price as the main Korg apps. Just saying.

People worry to much (in my opinion) about abandonment even when apps work well. If an app works well and is at a decent price point and is a known quantity, don't worry about what might be added in the future. Just ask yourself, can I use this today, does my version of the OS support it.
