I'm sorry to repeat myself but the other thrread looks outdated?.. Is ios 14 an issue with some little stutter while switching pages or is my ipad pro A9X chip not performant as his best? any tips in order to optimize latency? right now on a 1024 buffer

I don't think the chip is the issue. My iPad 6 (I am running iOS 13.7) doesn't have a problem like you describe. Do you have this problem with all projects or just some? I am usually running with a buffer of 256.

Try powering down (not putting to sleep) your iPad and powering back up and putting it into airplane mode.

Do you still have the problem after doing that?

Yes unfortunately it looks like a buffer issue on my side. 256 buffer i can hear cracking sound..and the only way so far is the 1024 and I'm testing demos BUT I alos tried to load a single wav and I have the same issue.. I fear ios 14 is another attempt to slow down our devices?

  • did you have this problem before upgrading to iOS 14?

Try deleting and reinstalling the app if you haven’t. Back up any projects first, though.

Thanks, I did it and also update once more to 14.2 BUT it does sound 'slighlty' more responsive BUT again AUM is cracking sound while switching pages too...thanks Apple for this beautiful experience in reverse.. off to the useless Apple Community forum

  • Anything happened with this recently? Just remembered it

  • Why isnt there start/stop with link. How am I ment to sync with 2 x jamm pro or other apps?

  • edited May 2022

    Audiobus makes it work though.

  • Sooo cool.

  • edited May 2022

Do I add un-nessary latency routing Jamm pro through audiobus and then to aum? Does audiobus add latency more than if jamm pro were just to aum? I think theres link if just aum but not start stop. Why wernt start stop not added so aum would start stop jamm pro. Like it start/stops other apps.

Using audio4c and 2 ipad. So obviously theres more system latency also?

Iv been just ignoring latency, when making music sessions. Like it will be ok. When I end up recording stems. So make templates with millions of synths etc lol

Id need audiobus to be able to midi map au fx paramenters and also route a blueboards cc. To an effect. This is easy with aum but just dont know what audiobus, paid midi stuff, offers.

Thats why I output audio to aum but gain start/stop from audiobus.

Need answers. As Id be buying another speaker stand for £50 plus another wood for £20 but I guess its worth buying anyway. If the jamm pro session isnt that good. Seems like. For the synth combos I use. Id need x2 ipad pros. To record at 512 which still isnt that great. Whats the deal with computing. Do you only load the amount of instruments and make a song, your computer can handle at the correct buffer size. That would just be a few synths etc. Whats the point of midi/arrangement etc?

It could work though. Another wood because deck needs a placement where there isnt wood now. Another stand. The wood would need slots. For the speaker stems to go in. Havent scratched for a while. Its good though. I quite certain. If record is on left hand. You would need ipads on right side. So you still got control of vinyl. Other wise ( and without cue points ) the vinyl would spin away. If tweaking ipad with left hand.

Does anyone use this app? When I think of ipad apps I buy and use once and never think about again, this app is top of that list. In fact a lot of the new apps I don't buy, I don't buy because of this app. I never even remember the name of it I'm just like "You remember that one app that is completely useless and cost like 20 bucks?"

Haha this made me laugh, not because you got burned and regret it but because I can totally relate, ever since I got drum computer and agonizer I've been hesitant with new app purchases due to the buyer's remorse of those two..

  • I’m a big fan of this one, and they’ve been good about tweaks and fixes since launch. The most recent update lets you trim samples, which makes everything MUCH more convenient if you have a collection of longer loops.

The interface is admittedly confusing — it gives you both too much and not enough information. But if you stick with it, it’s a very very powerful live solution.

  • I like this app. apps like this is why I like iPad.

Even more surprising, I just noticed it's now available for Android. Marked as 'early access' in the Play store and free of charge! Awesome. Beta enrollment also available.

My best advice here is load the update on your ipad first, then install on your iPhone, there have been some changes under the hood to functionality and IAP, this'll guarantee everything works properly with your apple ID. In the store menu on your phone try "restore my purchases" if it isn't hiding the creator function set properly.

One minor thing to note is some of the pack IDs had to change, so you may find some purchases missing, this is an inconvenience we were forced to deal with for future technical compatability, but if you still have the packs on your ipad you can airdrop the entire pack folder across to your iPhone.

Feel free to reach out to us for any additional support as well, I know it's a pain.

    Thanks for the info!

Choosing the IAP crashes Jamm Pro on my Android device. I sent the crash logs to Ninja Tune.

    Thanks for the advice @JammPro

  • As I got the app for free, and seeing @LSV's crash report, I bought an IAP to help test.

It didn't crash, but it did need a restart for the download option to become available.

    HTH.

Thank you for giving it a go! It's interesting how different devices are behaving with the android build, I believe the crash issue was due to some behind the scenes maintenance this morning. As far as your reboot required for downloads, that's a new one to me, may I get your device info (brand + model) please? If this is a recurrent issue somewhere, I can log it and see if anyone else has the same experience. (unfortunately there are just too many different devices for me to own every single one of them - I wish lol - so this is useful feedback.

I also recommend on some models to actually reboot your device after installing JP because some android devices "optimise" the binaries only after a restart, may prevent some general performance hiccups. Another good move is to go to app info > battery > unrestricted.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, I've got this thread pinging me directly.

My device is Samsung Galaxy A52S.
If identifying me more specifically is helpful, pm me to let me know how.

After installing jamm pro, but before buying the IAP, I had restarted the app, but not the device.

After the IAP the restart was again just for the app, not the device.

  • I’ve had the free version for so long now and somehow forgot about the paid version, despite really wanting it when it came out. It just shot to the top of my “to buy” list though.

  • I updated on my iPads, then my iPhone installed for free at the end of the purchase process.
