Changes in color in those buttons changes their function (pitch shift becomes scratch, and red channel mutes allows you to “play” the clip by touching it directly, hold down the launch button and slide you finger around on the clip, the modes for this appear on the right of the screen when the mute is red)
Can you set a clip to retrigger from the start? currently it seems fixed in legato mode.
also, changing sample start point changes it for all clips, that's not what I'm wanting.
Yes. Shift click on the channel mute so it turns red. This puts the clips in that channel into stab mode so they’ll play from the start.
When in stab mode the options for gate and loop appear in the clip view.
As mentioned by @Littlewoodg , when the channel is in this mode the channel’s pitch shifter becomes a scratcher....
thanks, will check that out
So it does. Hadn’t noticed that. Yeah, not at all ideal. But I understand the clip editor functions are being addressed in a future update.....
is there a metronome in this puppy?
Yesterday could reset anything in cc but cant reset anything now. Plus anything in cc which is applied to a channel is applied to all channels.
Is there a way to set to not lose the slice and gate settings when switching columns or at least to have the settings recalled when you return to a column. It seems like they get reset when you switch columns.
Also, any way to save ccut settings as recallable presets?
I find Audiobus is the best host for this, then you can send midi from other AUv3 for automating Jamm Pro via AB virtual midi port. You can't do it directly from AUM without using an external router.
I wish they allowed typing in midi values for assignments though, wish all apps did this Midi learn is fine for hardware but is not fun for software....
I think, from how I’ve interpreted the slightly gabbly way they’ve said it, only the first ccut ‘eye’ icon one gets preserved? Note the question mark, that bit of the manual isn’t that clear in my reading of it...
Having real mixed feelings with this one, it’s really beautiful when it works cleanly but there seems to be times that i load it up and it’s just not in the mood and goes all clickety and I can’t tell what causes it...
Wanted to do an Impaktor session with it streaming in through AudioBus and aum but that made it very unhappy, managed to have fun just with my guitar straight in, though I think I need to dig the ground hum on it if I’m going to do that without a noise gate 😬
Hopefully will hear something back in the week after emailing them about performance yesterday...
So an ipad mini 2 running jamm pro is a no-go ?
Anyone tried it on a lower end device?
where are the settings for the stab/ pad effects ?
This thing is badass, is there a way to use live input? I’d love to use that cutter and touch effects over my other gear without sampling it first
Every time I did a record / export of stems there seemed to be a stem of my mic input, coughs, farts and all. Doesn't seem to be routed to fx by default but I imagine there are probably settings for that?
Answering my own question. Long pressing the 'column' labels saves the current state of the preset including all ccut settings. I shoulda watched the tutorials before playing.
This app = tons of fun
Working great 9.7 2017 iPad.
Pretty crackly on my air 1, they have about the same specs IIRC
Crackly on ipad air 3. Might have a dodgy ipad though as it intermitent freezes even after factory reset. Might be an app Im re-adding. Might be IOS 13 forcing me to upgrade.
Working fine for me on an iPad 2018 with buffer at 256.
Are the specs better on yours compared to the air 2 & air 3?
256 has fixed it ( not this freezing bs though ) If hosting in aum or ab. Is there a best setting there for cpu.
Thanks mate.
There is a pretty huge gulf between the specs on the Air 2 and Air 3. The 2018 iPad is quite a bit faster than the Air 2, not as fast as the Air 3. Apples and oranges. Or different apples.
Thanks for the reply / I’m going to keep messing with it. If it doesn’t work like I want, I’ll borrow my moms new iPad Pro for a bit
So far it’s fine on my 2018 iPad, but I haven’t had the time to to anything more than load the free project and poke at the screen a few times.
Anyone know?
The eye seems to apply all trigs, retrigs etc to all channel that have a circle thing activated which is ok as you can turn off each circle so the trigs etc apply to just a channel selected but you have to select the circle thing again to apply any other effects, which then adds all the trig/retrig settings.
I found the Nu-Trix vid to be pretty good at explaining things
The question is because im sure it wasnt like this. Does the amount of trig/evolve/reverse apply global to the tracks.
Then cant you apply an effect to a channel unless you select the circle, which then applies the global trigs and reverses etc?
Anyway.
DSP in aum is now 17- 39 spikes. 256 buffer
Was about 70 on 512
It was123 dsp originally.
Ipad 2018 might be ok on 256 but make sure.
Its back crackling even on 256 and 70 in aum, just playing a stem.
This ipad keeps freezing also ( without this app )
Its getting on my nerves.
