  • I’ve only got the older free pocket version which is lovely too, and they made the iaps free I think... I’ll probably get the big sibling at some point but maxed out buying stuff right now..

Both emulations are by Arturia, but the numeric processing varies (Intel/ARM).
Imh ears (only knowing the original from videos) the IOS version has a different 'soundprint', but a very unique one which doesn't resemble any IOS synth I know.
Much appreciated that they only covered the 'classic' synthesis engine and left out all the graphic sample stuff of the PC version.

That’s totally wrong. Arturia has nothing to do with the reincarnation on iPad.
It‘s from the inventor, Cameron Warner Jones.

Thanks for that link.. good read.. love this quote from that article:

CJ: You have to be slightly loose in the head to pursue the arts professionally, but some people need self-expression.

The IOS version is in fact not related to Arturia. Sorry for messing things up...

  • I think it’s interesting how Cameron Jones pronounces Synclavier vs how everyone else does. 😆

😊 finally it‘s closer to the real thing.

  • Anyone still use this? I had high hopes, but I don’t use it much.

Not as much as I wished I had. The sounds are super playable and full of 'feeling'.
    Thanks for the reminder :sunglasses:

  • I like some of the sounds, but I knew I was never going to dive into programming this. I do need to spend more time here...

And this is why I stopped buying new synths - I don't even spend time with the ones I already own.

I picked it up 3 weeks ago.. it had been on my list forever..

Had Synclavier Pocket (it was great of them to make all the soundbanks free eventually) + loved the sounds..

I hear the sounds as building blocks.. a foundation to add things to.. test out all the crazy FX that we’re so lucky to have available to us.. the sounds are very much cool on their own but some of them scream for other FX to be added to them..

I have a jog/dial and a Teensy on the shelf for several months, but lack the time to dive into building a Synclavier Knob :/ o:)
It‘s one of the greatest IOS sound generators...

  • I was just messing around with this app again last night. I’ve had it for a long time now and I still love it as much as I did the first day. It’s not my most used but I get something good from it every time I do use it. Which is enough for me. And as an emulation, it’s one of the best on iOS, imo.

  • Sounds kinda groovy through the new Moog collection.

Doesn’t everything? 😂 I swear I’ve been running every app I own through them over the last few days

  • one of my favourites. A sound that will definitely respond well to some MF action
