  • Oops I’m late to the party... I just couldn’t believe my eyes. I already have it but still..

  • Dude same here, except I actually didn’t own this yet as finances have been extremely tight for quite a while.. Was doing my nightly check for new, on sale and free apps a bit ago and as I’m scrolling down the list not really expecting anything (I usually check a few times or more a day - “Hi, my name is Andrew and I’m an appoholic”...) when all the sudden my eyes see the words “Moog” and then glance over to see “Free” and before my brain even had time to process what it had seen my mouth had already spontaneously yelled out “WHAT!!!???!!!”... Of course I couldn’t not do a fist pump and go “yessssssssss”..... So rad of Moog to kick down this gem of a synth and for such an awesome reason... I Love Moog!

  • You just totally scored then. It’s a lil cpu heavy but it might be my fav iOS synth. Def top 3.

  • thanks for the info !

  • I could not believe it. It was on my wish list but not really at the top of it. I saw it went free and I thought it must have changed pricing model or something but it seems it is essentially the same app, no fine print. Last time I got this shocked is when BM3 went free.

  • Well done Moog!! These details increase my love for this company...

  • IAPs free too?

  • @Samu

Nah, the IAP's are not free.
    Roll your own I say.

  • IAPs are $2. One is $5.
    Is Animoog going AU?

That is what I do already, it's easy enough to tweak :)

    Yeah, I figured. 😁

Can settings be saved in AUM?

Because of so then I can share presets via that way.

I use the Model D UI to save the presets.
This way they are available in both stand-alone and AUv3 in all hosts and can be easily shared :)

  • Superb 😍 I love Animoog .. thanks for the heads up

    Awesome.

    Good to know.

    Thanks.

  • Would be so incredibly awesome if Animoog went AU... cannot believe how long it’s been around for and it’s still just so good. I think they kinda said it’s not gonna happen, but maybe they’ll do a re-imagining that will be?

Animoog is maybe my favorite multi-touch app (not as good sounding as Model D but just the first multi-touch app which amazed me and still does).
I remember to got it for 0.99 at intro.

  • It’s very cool that Moog have done this - I’m half way through a 14 day self isolation at home for possible Coronavirus, and I’ve just started feeling better and begun to get bored out of my mind, so this has brought a smile to my face today!

Arturia’s flaky-but-still-good iMini version has always been one of my favourite iOS synths, and I’d forgotten that Model D meant this is the Minimoog - I’d have got it sooner if so - but now I have it for free :-)

I’ve just given it a test run into Logic on the Mac and it’s by far the most stable synth app I’ve used over IDAM - most apps glitch a bit in some way but this seems rock solid, just like it’s a virtual instrument on the Mac.

It’s a proper pro app, phat as f**k, super easy to use - and free. Thanks Moog!!

  • Yeah I'm well impressed, wasn't even on my list as I have animoog but really nice to have an AU Moog to play with over the next few weeks of quiet...

  • We did a forum sound pack for this one, so that must be about somewhere :)

Sounds from this that you don't have the other Moog AU, Model 15? You are missing out on one of the best sounds on the platform if that's the case.

  • I have no experience with audio hardware, but Moog seems to be an amazing company. Great products, great people, great company philosophy.

  • This is awesome Moog did this. Since many are staying home till this pandemic cools down I’m sure this will help whittle away the time and help get our minds off this crisis a bit. I already have the Model D app and actually use it way more than my real Minimoog, in fact it’s sat in a corner covered in plastic since last summer. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.

Yeah, I've only spent a few hundreds lately, might be more if we're stuck inside for weeks, although work might be hard to come by 🙃

  • Very generous of Moog. Thanks.

  • Thank you Moog, I already have this great app for a long time and this is a really nice present in those isolation time

Yep, 1.5 is the last version I do believe. We did have a few sounds towards another pack, but I will have to see if I’ve still got them.

  • Love the sound of this one but I’ve had problems in both GarageBand and Cubasis with performance.

It is indeed quite heavy on cpu but i accept it in this case. Especially the saturation is by far the best in any iOS synth.
A rare case of proper gain-staging trough the signal path on iOS as well.

Nice work to those of you who contributed! Been listening to Doug's demo and it does sound good.

Been also checking out the IAPs - the Hyperdimensional Pads one sounds good to me so far. Currently $1.99.
