Possible! But given the still low number of cases here, unlikely, I’d say.

Ah ok. Well, hope the fog dissipates soon. All the best.

    Thank you!

Yeh I was just checking I wasn't mistaken so I tried it again and made a little video. When I finish recording, you can see the AUM tempo change. I was using this to specifically set a tempo for a song on the fly for live performance. I mainly used GTL for this but t was useful to have something else I could effect by itself for a rhythm track, and L7 worked, though I could never reliably get it's auto threshold not to glitch, as seen here.

I was actually thinking this would definitely be there in the new Loopy, so I hope it is!

I really hope this will be in Loopy as well!

  • Yep, it will be

No, it’s “It’s already in there!”, which is also a convenient double entendre

  • Perfect. 😂

Hmm... happy to be proven wrong. I don’t own L7, and it seems very dodgy from any perspective. Is that the AU that can run a single instance only?

    yep, single instance only.

Wow. So it has link enabled and is single instance only?

It doesn’t sound like AUV3, more like IAA in AU clothing!!

I’d like to say a word in defence of L7. I’ve used it a lot for capturing MPE SWAM jams and for quick sampling into the ReSlice AUv3, does the job for both pretty well. Better one instance than no instance for me.

It depends how you’re using it I guess. For me it kept crashing with midi controllers hooked up, which is the whole point of audio looping to me. I’m guessing maybe developers pushed it out without having stress tested it in different scenarios. Whatever it is I’ve heard many people complaining about its stability issues.

I did swear at it quite a lot when it first came out and for quite a long time after, but then one day it just started working properly (with a midi controller). It would be useful if I could remember when that was... but all I can remember is it being just before I was going to abandon it for good.

I think though my main point would be that one instance (for an AUv3 audio looper) is one instance more than available anywhere else before or since, so is a good thing and shouldn’t be dismissed as disappointing.*

Not trying to derail this thread though, obviously I’m all in when we all go Pro :)

*EDIT: forgot Enso, also very useful and also often maligned, unfairly in my opinion.

  • Oh my goodness! When I did a search for Glou-Glou Loupé, I had no idea that I’d wind up finding out that née “Loopy Masterpiece Edition” is apparently nearing release (Loupé was recently mentioned on this thread, which explains the search result). Loopy HD has held a special place for me, for years, and I continue to go back to it.

Because of the Loupé announcement earlier this year, I've taken a deep dive into many things boundary-stretching-and-creative-looping related, including acquiring a Gibson EDP+, and I recognize at least one or two people in this thread from the two main Gear Page looping threads that David Torn frequents. I will have to do a lot of catching up on this thread, now!

I just looked it up. I think LoopyPro will be a very good alternative without taking up so much real estate :D What is it with hardware manufacturers lately building giant pieces of equipment again? :D I thought we all wanted to go the exact opposite direction. The only hardware looper I would actually buy again is the boomerang, just because I fell in love with it years ago haha

  • Yes, quite. I’ve been making some good use out of Samplebot recently - there nothing quite like it really. I can’t wait to get my hands on Loopy Pro to enhance this by a significant factor. I’m now going for longer loops made out of multi bar chunks, which Samplebot is perfect for, especially as it has Link.

Any chance of a mini update @michael? re the bug squishing - timeframe for opening out the testing? Just wondering if it’s days, weeks or months we are looking at now?

ps I can’t help thinking that I can’t recall anyone referring to Loopy Pro as a potential ..... (you know the phrase I mean - about making the type of competition different sort of thing). Maybe that’s seen as a curse now, like actors referring to ‘the Scottish Play’ when talking about Macbeth 😀

Maybe it’s just me, but after the ‘hurdle’ around Atom2 release, I would urge people to give dev some breathing space. We’re all excited, we’re all on toes... but these are the most critical times in the process, let’s not pile more pressure.
Sorry, if this reads offensive, I don’t mean it that way.
Information and everything else will come when available. ✌️

Yeah cool. But there has already been a few estimates given by @Michael already, I was just asking for a fresh/ latest one as it were. I can’t see how that is going to put any ‘pressure’ on - it’s simply a question - not any kind of demand or turning a giant screw or anything. It would be nice to know what the latest is - whether or not it ends up going backwards forwards or upwards in the future. I’m not meaning any offence either but I think you are possibly being a smidgen on the melodramatic side 😀

Honestly I thought I'd be done by now, but this flu has bollocksed that up for weeks. At my desk now trying to get my brain into gear and make a start on this bug list.

  • Hi Michael
I have been following this development from the very beginning, it’s not going to hurt (much) waiting a little while longer, and will obviously be well worth the wait, anyway patience is suppose to be a virtue :)

    Hoping you get well soon.
Kind regards to you and yours.

  • Thank you! Frustrating from my end, but we'll get there!

Yep! The more the merrier! With one caveat: Problems and issues I would prefer to be sent straight to me so I can sort them out 😀

  • Hi, please excuse if this question’s been answered somewhere back in the thread already, but will this be made to run on devices that can’t go higher than whatever the last update to ios 12 is (or will be; Apple has still updated it in recent times for security purposes)? That as new as my newest iDevice gets.

According to M’s earlier post it’s going to be iOS11 and up.
