I like to be different![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Thanks! If you're interested in the potential of these functions, I recommend checking out AndreLafosse's YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/andrelafosse
Amazing.
Fair enough. It's a pretty niche feature. As @NoiseFloored said, those few who want it can just use Enso within Loopy.

@Michael Good to know, thanks
@Michael about the look-ahead recording, any idea how long the buffer will be on release? Really, looking forward to this
Haven't used Loopy in years. Recently getting into to Koala Sampler. Does the new Loopy app offer a workflow as quick for sampling as Koala?
Thanks,
Joe
Right now, it’ll be one loop duration (so you lock in the last loop when triggering record), for whatever that duration is.
In the future I plan to make it a much longer history, so you can select individual loops from the buffer.
I’m actually not really familiar with Koala… I’d have to look into it
Edit: cool! It’s not the same workflow, but there are some similarities
I tried this Koala app, it is stuck in 4/4 with no options. So, that makes it pretty much unusable for me.
I was glad to hear that Loopy Pro will be supporting many time signatures. I’ve always liked Loopy HD, but sometimes going through all the IAA channel routing to AUM I don’t pull it up right away. If I remember Loopy Pro will be an AUv3 host I think, so that should help a lot. At this point, it’s really too much to go through 39 threads to confirm if I remember correctly that it is AUv3. I checked a few and didn’t see mention of AUv3 though.
It is both an AU and an AU host, yep
Will it support combing ? (taking different parts from different takes)
You can already freely set 'beats per bar' in Koala?!
Andre is the man. This performance of his is my go-to for showing the improvisational potential of "advanced" looping features: one guitar, one EDP, nothing prerecorded.
If we can get some of the EDP features (Multiply, Insert, Replace) in Loopy Pro, that will be fantastic!
Andre is quite the performer - I started following him for his LOUPE guitar pedal demos
— gave me some awe-fully bad GAS
When did they add that? I sent the developer a message early on and they said they would love to add such a feature. I checked after every update for a year and nothing. So, they must have added this after I gave up on it. I can actually use this app now.
I checked the app update history just now and it looks like it was only the last update a month ago they fixed this terrible feature of being stuck in 4/4.
LOVE this!
This shit is crazy!. Glitchy guitar hero devil.
Hi Michael, just a hello to say I‘ve been watching with excitement. Is it truly just a few more weeks before beta?! Thanks for keeping us updated as we get closer.
Hi! Yes indeed!
Yeah I intend to do comping - haven’t yet decided to do it in 1.0 or shortly after release; probably the latter. All the facilities are there already, just needs the UI though.
I really went into this expecting to hate it. And then when I realize he's covering "Sign o' the Times"! Sacrilege! But...it's really pretty good. Impressed.
There’s a brief interlude of "Black Satin" by Miles Davis in there too, as well as some of Andre’s own compositions. (The melodic themes of his live performances are not generally improvised, I think, but there’s an improvisational element to the rhythm loops and the transitions.)
Any chance of a look at what the AppStore description will look like @Michael ? -or is that perhaps still under wraps?
Maybe it’s considered bad luck or poor etiquette to do that? I can’t remember seeing it before for any other apps.
I’ve lost track of all the capabilities that have been mentioned so far. It would be be nice to see them laid out.
I’ll be making some walkthrough vids shortly. Don’t have an App Store description yet.
Very creative use of the looper. Would love to see an interview where he explains the gear he uses. I’m intrigued by the bass sound. Is that another pedal or the looper itself?.
Not sure; it might be an octave pedal. Andre is happy to tell you anything you could possibly want to know about looping, and then some: https://www.youtube.com/user/andrelafosse/featured.
Yeah that was ridiculously good, I enjoyed that immensely. Thanks!
If @Michael feels like answering another question, I'm wondering how he sees the new Loopy.
Is it, as I am imagining it will be for me, a much more fully featured, super capable looper, with great capabilities for live performance, or has it crossed the line into being able to be used in a more general purpose DAW like way?
Primarily the former, supported by DAW-like capabilities for capturing/editing performances and also driving automation.
That’s what I thought about when I saw that tile layout. I mean those turntable tiles 😍![](https://forum.audiob.us/uploads/editor/cl/neyb9u3mbaqu.jpeg)
