In Audiobus 2 we’re discontinuing support for iOS 6
Hello everybody,
We’ve had a look at the statistics and it turns out that there are about seven percent of our users who are still running iOS 6. This number is going to drop in the coming months, especially once iOS 8 is introduced.
We’ve decided it’s not a good use of our time to make sure that Audiobus 2 is running as well as we’d like it to on this platform which the vast majority of our userbase has already moved away from.
Audiobus version 1 will still run on devices running iOS 5 or iOS 6 after we’ve launched Audiobus 2, but we won’t be able to release updates for Audiobus 1 anymore.
We hope that you understand and appreciate our decision because it means we’ll be able to spend more time on improving the new version of Audiobus.
Sincerely,
The Audiobus Team

Makes 100% sense to me Sebastian.
No problem, as far as I'm concerned. The stubbornness from some uses to upgrade to IOS7 really makes no sense to me.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Bring it on.
Good to go here.

Why would you wish to insult people who have devices that don't support iOS7 or who rely on apps that stopped working in iOS7? Those people are not being stubborn.
Updated to iOS7 on day 1, with no regrets!
Bring it on!
Happy with that - 93% er here![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I'm 93% happy with that...
One question, Sebastian:
The apps with AB2 support will work with AB1 when updating theirs apps? I don't talking about future bugs between those apps and AB1 (that's a bussines of each dev).
Maybe it's a silly question, but not clear me.
Thanks.
Hopefully this will keep you on target for an early 2014 release![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I see no problem here. I'll probably leave older devices on iOS6 and Audiobus1, and the newer one (iPad4) for Audiobus2.
Nothing to do with stubbornness, there are other apps and beta versions that (may) need iOS6. Although Sebastian is probably right, some day all devices except iPad1 can update to iOS7. iOS8 may be another story, we'll see.

Yes. There currently already are apps with the Audiobus 2 SDK on the app store (you can tell them from the new look of the connection panel).
Of course we cannot guarantee infinite backwards compatibility for all time in the future but we're trying to make it a smooth transition for everybody.

Yep. And a time will come where all of us will jump at AB2.
@sebastian and now you decide to make separate app (AB1 and AB2) or all is same of before?
@Sebastian suggested we hold off on updating to iOS 7 last year so I have been waiting on him to give the go ahead to upgrade. Either I missed it or this is it :-) .
When's AB3 coming out?
my iPad 1 would not be able to take advantage of multi-route anyway. My Air is ready tho.
Cool pants, ready when you are.
I'm OK with dropping support for iOS 6. @dwarman is correct--the older devices can't really benefit from multi-routing, so it makes no sense to try to keep supporting the older iOS versions. :-)
But does it support windows xp?
Full support here.

I hope it does. My grandma's been asking for it since she's received her over 60's free bus pass.
(ah, sorry this is more like the trolling thread material)
Technology moves on. Move with it.
No problems here!
Those stats make the decision completely understandable. I realise a lot of people are very happy with ios 7, however, and this is just my opinion, just because technology 'moves on' it doesn't necessarily mean that move brings an increase in quality. The amount of crashing and bugginess with 7 is far removed from the solid and stable 6. Anyway OS aside , AB2 looks full of exciting potential and this forum will be red hot with the sharing of presets. Can't wait!

I do hope they fix IOS 7 first before dropping another buggy version, or will IOS 8 essentially be another round of improvements/upgrades for IOS 7 ?
iOS 8 is certainly going to look similar to iOS 7 and will add gradual updates. I guess under the hood Apple is going to try to bring Mac OS and iOS closer and closer. But other than that my crystal ball is quite muddy...
I have mixed feelings as I wish to retain ios 6 for other reasons than audiobus.

You can. Audiobus 1 is still going to work.
Oh fvck you...
