With a Logitech K400, I was able to scroll with two fingers. With my Magic Mouse 1, I could not scroll.
Did you set the middle click function with AssistiveTouch? That is where you would do that.
I’m using the exact same mouse, and have the same message. Haven’t noticed any Wi-Fi issues though.
You can drag the scrollbar with the left mouse button, but you need to make it appear first by doing a fast mouse-wheel scroll.
It had the same problem. To scroll a web page you have to scroll up. The opposite of windows.
@tja for what it's worth, I have tried a bog standard Trust Bluetooth mouse from Tesco's, and scrolling with the mouse wheel is also completely unusable. I have no idea who signs off such major usability issues at Apple. Rant over!
This has some useful info about the WiFi/Bluetooth warning (Wireless interference): https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211009
Magic Mouse 1 and Magic Trackpad 1 don't support scrolling, need a V2 for scrolling. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210394#134
In iPadOS Settings, there are options under both General and Accessibility.
Mouse support changed quite a bit with 13.4. I had the accessibility settings turned on for awhile then realized it wasn’t supposed to used that way. I had to dump my surface arc mouse an went to Magic Mouse and after re-learning some things I’m okay right now. Seems a little half baked but definitely better after getting used to it. I don’t like the fact that third party mice support seems to have been broken. Hopefully iOS 14 remedies this.
One thing that really tripped me up. In AUM I used to be able to right-click and access menu options, especially with individual devices. It’s touchy with Magic Mouse. You need to really click far up right corner to get it to work. Hopefully this all gets ironed out. I really hope anyway.
I was just testing this with a Logitech mouse and found that a left click then a right click was reliable each time. I was left/right clicking on the hamburger to the right of a synth in the main slot to access.
So are talking about Magic Mouse 2? I have seen some good reviews of that with iOS. Anyone here using it or did I miss that?
Where did they say that? What thing?
Once the device is connected, new categories ‘appear’ in Settings. But I don't remember seeing an inverted scrolling option.
It's upside-down from Windows. It's been about a week, but I'm finally getting used to it. In a weird way, it makes sense, once you get over the change.
Gonna suck when I fire up my Windows PC again tho. I wonder if I'll end up changing the scroll direction on my Logitech mouse.
Everybody i know who uses a Mac disables that immediately.
Android - Normal
Chrome - Normal
Linux - Normal
Windows - Normal
Mac - Inverted (Optionally)
iOS - Inverted (Fixed)
Hell i even have a Stanton SCS4DJ that you can plug a mouse in to - Normal hahaha.
Yep, it's configurable. I've kept it "natural" (how "Apple" is that?? ) - just to challenge myself to adapt to a different paradigm.
When I worked for a few years in Switzerland, there were four different language keyboards in use by various people in the office. I had to teach myself to instantly adapt to whomever I was assisting at the time. It was good training.
Same as adapting to a guitar vs. a ukelele vs. a violin vs. different guitar tunings. Its a worthy skill to nurture.
