'i like the TAL-U-NO synth but it's an overpriced, half finished app because it doesn't make me ice cream sandwiches.'

Is this supposed to be funny oh bitterest 1? A jab at me perhaps? We are all entitled to our opinions on here. Again, nothing that I requested was unreasonable for a future ask & we all have feature requests for new apps on here so why are you so....bitter...with my future feature request? I love the Tal synth by the way but such a shame it does not make you your ice cream sandwiches you could really some use more sweetness in your life right about now to balance out all that bitterness in your gums. Have a lovely day!

“I bought this app and it sucks because it doesn’t do exactly what I wanted and expected it to do.”

Maybe it wasn’t meant that way but that’s the way it came across FWIW.

Well EEEEEXXXXXCCCUUUSSSSSEEEE ME! iOS connectivity should be a no brainer these daze. I never said this app sucks-your quote not mine. This app is fabulous, that’s why I bought it. The Dev’s free daily samples leave me in awe of the pianist’s true talent-how I wish I could play like them! Hats off respect for that amazing talent! I love this app! I Just wished for a couple more future new features. What’s wrong with wanting to see a new app even get even better? WE ALL WANT THAT!!! But when I do it it’s “bitching”? I buy way more apps than you. I have 1000+ of them. I am done with defending my Future feature Requests on on this app on here as you all know what I would like now. I have no more time for fuelling more fodder for the bored on here who seek cheap at home entertainment/amusement at the expense of other members. There very are few ladies on here as iOS Music makers as it is, so perhaps making them feel more welcome and focusing on making this space a more friendly & inviting atmosphere with less opined wisecracks would be in order? I don’t opine, insult or ridicule peeps if someone has a future feature app request for a NEW App, so what’s this to you? Why are you take this so personally? Perhaps, it would be a better measure and more worthy of your time & efforts spent on here by welcoming and making people more comfortable to share their thoughts on here just like YOU get to do on here! Have a pleasant evening.

Not nice, hope they will update the app asap.

    +1.

No way to record our stuff or import our samples into it either I guess right now? This is alas, another case of a half finished app syndrome. It has such promise but it is overpriced IMHO for you actually get for it, sad! Instahbought = Instahregret!!! Dear DEV: Please finish this APP ASAP so we can actually record with it and use this with (AU) & proper connnectivity. I am tempted to get a refund on this if further work is not forthcoming on this one. Sorry but I cannot recommend this App as as it is right now guys! Sweet sounds but then what???

That is not just asking for features. That right there is called bitching. And it’s unwarranted.

Any time you sound like a Trump Tweet, you done went wrong.

THANK YOU Mister Developer. Works well here. Your thing makes excellent noise, especially for the heartbroken, but now we can easily share the thing my enthusiastic inner bunny is very happy.

As for AU3. Yes. This was made to play inside NS2. In a week it's May which means you have eight months (and a week) to fulfill your obligations, make a living, perhaps fall in love, stay alive (of course), honor thy parents etc if applicable, service the car and so forth. All of these things you would have done anyway, life just going by for the lucky amongst us, but YOU, you also are going to achieve something extra and we will be waiting at the doorway with our jaunty angry villager torches. It's going to be a grand Christmas this year, I can just sense it :)

@lofi_piano : Bought! This app is great, especially if you are a fan of Hainbach style softy wonky piano loops. I’d previously spent ages with FX apps carefully downgrading the otherwise excellent sounding free MuseScore soundfont pianos In BS16i to achieve just this effect. Now I don’t have to :)

Loads of variation to the basic sound available within the app, looooooovely soft sound, and runs just fine in AUM as an IAA generator (go the AUM midi matrix page and hook it up ‘virtually’ to your in-AUM midi sources, I have Cykle doing it’s thing to it right now.)

Plus this new dev is aiming to make this AU by years end. I hope they do, and bought this mainly to encourage them (come one, £5, it’s a steal!) but even if they don’t, it’s fully usable now, and that’s good enough for me.

Update: just used it, and the new free FM Piano from the maker of KQ Dixie https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/fm-piano-ad-free/id1509387368 to create a track. Check it in the Creations thread:

  • Bought and I love it. So lovely sound. Thanks for making it Auv3. It will be a must buy for all.

  • @lofi_piano you rock 🤘

Now that it has AB3, you could use Synthjacker to make an Obsidian instrument from it:

Have not jacked any synths yet, am a bit intimidated, but, you know, it's the weekend again and strangely my calendar looks pretty open, so maybe now's the time....

Actually with this app it's not so simple, it doesn't seem to respond to virtual MIDI and isn't available as an IAA insert (although AB3 should in theory add that automatically). I'll do some further digging to see if I can get it to work.

  • Lot of distortion here using studio quality headphone. No problem with iPad built in speaker. So strange.

  • edited April 2020

@richardyot : apologies if I have misunderstood this, but it does at least
respond in AUM as a virtual device on the AUM midi matrix screen - it’s how I made a track with it today.

I do note though that it appears as a generic ‘virtual device’ not under its own name. Could that be part of the issue, @lofi_piano ?

Also, @Charlesalbert , you probably know this so sorry if you can hear eggs being sucked but it took me a while to realise the built in FX are quite harsh, and it’s easy to mistake whether they are on or not (hit the coloured light buttons and check the centre screen).

Some frequencies rattled my iPad speakers, but it sounded fine through my Samson SR850s once I sorted my settings out.

It sounds Lo-Fi ..... like just get any free piano and add some shite noise to it and boom you have this... but for free! :-)

Yeah. Roll off the high end, add some modulated noise, boom. It’s an easy patch to make.

Yes, yes, yes, but these were recorded by way of an actual cassette and so forth.

Indeed. Modulated noise ain't gonna remake the warble of this demo.

We also have a new free AUv3 template coming in a few weeks.

Was just trolling your github repo looking for this but didn't see it. Is the WIP on AUv3 template public?

  • I managed to sample it with a variation on my method:

    https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/35665/tip-to-considerably-speed-up-synthjacker-sampling

But I had to route it via Audiobus, and then record the audio in realtime on the AB3 track prior to doing the mixdown.

It will be released to the public in conjunction with our app coming out w/ Henny tha Bizness. Still hoping for a May release of the code & app. Until it's completely finished and tested, it might have code that could cause would-be devs more harm than good.

  • @lofi_piano Hope this goes from IAA generator to IAA instrument as it is a instrument first and foremost and the midi opened up properly soon. Great sounds let down by stability and connectivity issues.

  • @lofi_piano how is the auv3 going ?

  • AUv3 update was just approved 🙏
