It switches the Sound Source to Harmonic type, and randomizes the sliders on that Harmonic Synth. It will load it on a selected step, or all steps, for a lane.
I think User multi-samples have to be created/edited with Chameleon. You can only edit Single Sample or Harmonic sound sources in Evolver.
The only way I can come up with to use Velocity layered samples in here is to utilize the fact that each lane can load 16 individual Single Samples, and you can specify which sample plays on which active step. So you could use a lane for one sound with 16 velocity layers, or 2 sounds with 8 velocity layers each, 4 sounds with 4 velocity layers each, or any other way you want to divvy up those 16 sample slots.
Haha, there sure is some truth in what you said 😄
I'm only a human being so I have to focus my limited time on what I think is most rewarding for me. Using AudioLayer for great sampled instruments and Stockholm for sample sequencing leaves me wondering how much I'd use it.
Will watch videos and find out what else is to it. The accompaniment makes me curious.
Good point. If the presets are great, I might give it a try anyway.
Thanks!
Ah, thanks a lot for clarifying!
I was thinking it kinda sucks to burn a whole lane for one velocity layered sound, but then I remembered the AU fact of muti-instancing. You could make one instance a four track drum unit with each drum having 16 velocity layers, by putting one drum per lane.
Then just do the synth stuff in another instance.

It's a bit like re-imagining a DAW application. Definitely unlike anything else I can think of
and the sound quality of the sample playback seems really good. I'm still curious to see if
whole "projects" can be exported and shared. I think there's a lot of power there with patch storage.
The downloads of NS2 from patch storage are really excellent. A trend I hope to see increased. The list of instruments in NS2 hs gotten huge with high quality for most sound types: The 9000 foot piano for example. (Does anyone know the history of that named sample?).
As yes. Evolver's piano that's drenched in reverb works well for me too.
Hmmm. Got a Wavestate sitting right next to me but having an alternative solution in my pocket (yes, iPhone support!) sounds like fun. Too busy with D atm but one day... 😉
We have a glut of programable apps lately... and I expect we'll just keep getting hit with even more
since the FX market is pretty saturated. Our toys are still priced to keep us so busy we'll never have time play with them all.
So true. Devs, bring us the time app!
Time doubler, time multiplier, real-life time stretcher, seamless bug-free multitasker, light speed simulator, black friday hole locker, genetic multitap delay, wrinkle reverser...
All with MIDI control from my command center.
What a great list.. I suspect they really have served many of these needs when I think about how we
made music in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 100's and 110's. Life is good in the 120's.
i’ve added this app to my 5 must haves 😎 its really fun and full of happy accidents and intentional mishaps 🤪
😅👍🏼
That was a helpful video! Looking forward to the next part.

Updated with MIDI out !
Rad , about to test this out

Cheers and good luck with your project
So is the “midi out “ setting in Zones a global setting or can each lane transmit midi data on a different midi channel? Been trying it out in AUM with a few synths and appears to be global only for now maybe I’m missing something?
Looks like you can set a channel per lane, if you set one and then switch lanes you can set a different channel.
Tried that I can’t get lane 2 to trigger.
In the Notes section have you got Voice Mode set to sequence?
Programming guide 4:
Yes checked that.
It works ok for me. I am able to send one "sequence" channel 1 to an external synth and another sequence channel 2 on a second external synth. Don't forget to set the channels in AUM
It would be great if Evolver had the ability to do simple Multi Sample editing\import (or simple mapping in this case) without having to rely on third party apps to do so.
...just a minor nag.
Keep up the great work!!!
you can drag and drop as many samples into evolver as you want via the file app split screen, but an import would be great i agree, as it is based around using samples
You could always get Chameleon to do this and treat it like an IAP for Evolver?!
I think this is what the dev had in mind. Same with the other app Digikeys. Both link up with Chameleon for user multisample patches, but you need Chameleon to actually build the patches.
I have no problem at all buying Chameleon and supporting the developer (All 4 Pockets apps are top notch and deserve all the support they can get). And it makes sense if that was the dev's intention for their own apps to work together. I just thought It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to allow basic mapping of imported samples.
I've just AutoSampled a bunch of Instruments (Mainstage Alchemy) and External Synths and made some SFZ files with PolyPhone. This is a very elegant solution and not very time consuming. If the Chameleon route however is the only option on the iPad itself to create multisamples, then I'll just bite the bullet
