Not sure i understand the routing here.
There is an input Mono/Stereo, but both channel controls still effect the sound no matter the position of that switch.
There is a Mono/Stereo switch, but again no matter the position of that switch, both channels still effect the sound.
Put both of these switches on Mono and again both channels effect the audio still.
This makes no sense at all to me.
If i switch input to Mono I expect the lower channel not to effect the sound because it has summed the input if it is stereo, because if it is just for mono input signals then the switches would seem completely pointless, because if only a mono signal is entering the plugin, there is no need to switch to mono input because it has no impact on the channels at all because both channels are separate anyway ?

The reason for mono to stereo on the output is to create a stereo field for the output even when the input is mono.

The two sets of knobs (upper and lower) are for the input and output stages. They aren’t channel controls.

    Nothing like being blind lol

Still not convinced by crunch sounds.
I think there is still room for improvement.
It does not sound and feel like an amp to my ears

We aren’t marketing this to “convince” you that it’s a copy of any existing amp. Rather its something that has a warm vibe and sounds unlike anything else.

Yea I was a little confused because when switching presets no buttons or dials changed, but the sound clearly did. Are the presets changing something behind the scenes?

Those aren’t presets. They are different amp models. So, there are a lot of behind-the-scenes differences. They have quite different characteristics.

@Blue_Mangoo : any chance there could be some control over the amount of compression? The compression ratio seems pretty high to me.

There is no compressor in there. It compresses due to the way the dynamic soft clipping responds. We do not plan to expose the parameters that control the model.

  • The things I do for a code for an awesome app! I even dragged my guitar out of retirement and spent 45 minutes learning AUM (I'm an AB guy) so I could try and do a left/right comparison before giving up and just muting and unmuting. This isn't the best marketing but it does comply with the rules! :-)

I promise the next one I'll practice first.

  • @Blue_Mangoo heres my link for my demo It sounds awesome, I’m really enjoying the sound I can get out of it with my guitar

  • So I tried my harmonica on it through the crunch setting. Results are in a followup on my twitter. I'm better at harmonica, though still not great but I can bend those notes nasty!

    Did a Vid... here:
    https://www.facebook.com/someonecalledsimon

There's a couple of snippets of original tunes with some (or a lot) or verb and delay, and a bit of Bacharach which is just the amp sim alone.

  • Here’s my submission. Anyone down for a depressing lullaby at 1:10?

I don't do social media and free codes are a no go for me at iOS prices anyway, but I will be buying this as a high end exciter for Neuros/Reeses, it has just the right amount of ball balls.

I get that. I'm on the other spectrum where free apps are a blessing (#collegestudent).

I'm tempted to use the code in a giveaway on my YouTube channel (since iTunes gifting are region exclusive.) Am I allowed to do that?

Although I'm also tempted to redeem the code as well. Loved the effect, and it reminded me of RC-20 on PC. But I plan on getting the other Blue Mangoo apps like iFretless Bass, as well as Drambo.

Man, decisions....Why do you have to make such amazing apps @Blue_Mangoo?

  • sweet hum buckers preset trying low gain overdrive

  • Hi @Blue_Mangoo here is my video effort using Gain Stage Vintage Clean. Must say I’m very impressed.

  • And now @Blue_Mangoo has a plethora of app codes to give out, perhaps more than anticipated!

I think we’re well past the code deadline. Quite amazing how many skint guitarists are out there. 😂😂😂

    Sorry couldn’t resist!

Nope! Friday is the deadline (the post was on Sunday the 19th)

    @Blue_Mangoo said:

How much time do we have, ?

Officially, I think this Friday should be the deadline because it's most helpful to me to have the videos when the app is on its first 48 hours on the App Store. But if you play guitar well like @flo26 then there is no deadline for you because a good video with good guitar skill is always worth the price of an app sale, in terms of its advertising power.

    And then

No, but just opportunistic or at least not wanting to spend money unnecessarily. We've spent all our money on the dang axe, you better believe we'll all jump through hoops to get a free AU amp. But you are right, compared to a real amp these things are quite inexpensive. But you might as well try for a free code! Maybe deep down all guitarists are a little bit Scotsman. (said as one who has that heritage)

    @SimonSomeone Nice jams man.

Thanks :) I don't think I had that crunch sound quite right though. I did find it a bit hard to get that sounding right. It's quite a jump from the other models, and feels like there should be something in between.

This amp sim is kind of weird. It's not based on a circuit design of any real amps. We originally planned for this release to be clean amps only but that one crunch preset was popular with the beta testers last time so we threw it in because I'd be disappointed to see it go to waste. There is a reason why the plugin is called "Vintage Clean", if you get my drift.

Nice playing man, definitely deserve that code! Albeit to my ears it would sound better with minimal distortion/saturation. Kinda clean jazz sound, but I guess that is the cliche of the genre.

That’s my man!! Pot and cheap guitars is where it’s at. Just learn to set them up yourself and you’re flying!

  • No virtuoso performance I’m afraid, just a vanilla run through of the amp models.

At the start, I noticed some clipping maybe so you can see that I turn down the input, not sure if the limiter picks it up or not...

  • Since the app is officially out on the store I was wandering how could @Blue_Mangoo reach all the people who submitted here their videos🤣🤣🤣it’s a big work😜congrats for the app. Super✌️

I will contact them by private message on this forum. I plan to do it tomorrow.

  • This is my first post, great app bluemangoo works great with pedal steel guitar, especially because they have such high output pickups.

I’ll let people know about it on the steel guitar forum.

  • I just bought GS Vintage Clean for iOS to play with my guitar and I just wanted to let you know that I really like the app. Thanks! I also bought Velocity Control that is perfect for my need (someone here suggested me this app when I was looking for a very good touch sensitive midi controller).

GS Vintage Clean is simple and very effective. I use it when I play with my headphone thru my Blackstar TVP (a true gem, I don’t know why these amps are not more popular) and it sound really good. I dont know what the « oversampling factor » do, but the rest is easy to understand.

I’m very curious about Stereo Width Control. Is it worth it? I think I will need this app too. I spent too much this month on apps, but I will be buying a couple more of your apps for sure.
