  • They already took my money, but no app yet😂😂😂

Edit. I’m old and I can’t see. It is out. I’m downloading it.

  • This may be the best thing that 4pockets have done. It's deeeeeeep but dope. I rarely their FX though I have a bunch of them, but this takes it to the top. Lots of possibilities of layering sounds and getting lost in them. Pre-order came through.

Immediate pre-order. I can easily see the hardware inspiration for this, awesome sonic possibilities.

Yes, it's clear. That other new "Wave" synth but as an AU!

i grabbed it but haven’t got to mess yet.. freaking jobs

  • Made my first multi sampled patch this is going to be very useful and fun to build with.

Interesting app. I really thought that we would have a way to use external sound sources. For example AU multi-input coupled with midi-out...it would have been a nice way to open the app to more sound source whilst keeping the internal fx.
We are a bit limited with the samples system (even if chameleon is a great source).
I hope this app will evolve(rFx) in the futur

Edit : there is much more under the hood. For example, you can load your own samples, mix them with drums and create amazing ambient tracks. It is very flexible, creative and powerful. Yes, I still hope to have external instruments one day but with the existing feature I can already go very far...

  • I thought that it would be possible to use in fx slot using our synths sounds but until now I was able to use it only with internal samples library. Maybe I’ll wait someone to explain me. I’m a little bit confused at the moment😂

  • you can use your own samples.
i put the files app up on split screen, hit the single sample button and drug my sample over. worked great. that was in standalone, may not work in auv3

  • I hope sample folder support comes got loads of good samples I could put into this!

  • I just bought EvolverFX and was trying a test track with three instances of Evolver using an original iPad Pro in Cubasis. All was fine until I tried to mixdown and the mixdown file produced was blank, no sound. And then all the tracks were silent until I reloaded all the presets. Freezing has the same effect, just silent. And after saving the project, when I reloaded, the presets were forgotten. I hope you can fix these as the app itself sounds marvelous.
I think I sent the above message via their website but it didn’t confirm it had been sent, so posted here as well. It would be useful if Others could confirm (or otherwise).

Finding the programming side of this quite challenging! Working between Sample and Timing sequencer and lane or lanes, tried following the video but getting mixed results and going down wrong rabbit holes !

Any chance of getting the in-app help in pdf form, or at least making it copyable so it can be cut-pasted into a doc?

Never mind. Looks like you CAN copy/paste... sorta. :(

The result is kinda ugly, but workable, I guess...

Best to view the layout in full screen view otherwise it gets confusing.

The name is confusing. Should have been called: WaveSynth or Wavecycle or Evolver Synth. It's not an FX. It's a synth and crazy one at that. I dig it lots, though UI take some getting used to.

I found to just follow my nose rather than follow a video I seem to be getting some place.

  • i have no idea what im doing with the sequencer 🤷🏻‍♂️ like what??? 🤣 i got some samples in there tho

  • There is some kind of sorcery going on here but I can’t even start to explain it. In fumbling around with programming a performance using my own samples, I’m realizing I have just scratched the surface on something totally wild and deep.

  • Learning curve is not that steep. I think once you have watched the video tutorials from 4Pockets, then you understand everything that is necessary to enjoy the app. And it is a lot of fun

  • Are there opportunities to share our efforts on PatchStorage to reduce the effort and benefit from those that really dig in to make great sample packages?

FYI: If you haven't installed every Nanostudio2 patch on patch storage you're missing a good free $50 value. There are great instruments available created by @rs2000, @MrBlaschke, @richardyot and more.
Free sample-based instruments... imagine a stampede of cattle sample with optional gunshot sound FX. Hya!

  • If it's not too much trouble can someone help add a little more clarity to this feature:

"Multiple Import options (including an experimental SFZ format)."

Not the experimental format (I get that they are trying to help with a new set of metadata rules) but the other supported options: sf2, ESX24, file naming conventions like AudioLayer and the folder scheme NS2 supports to group layers and assign root notes to wave files.

I recall jumping into Chameleon with both feet only to discover it's extreme limitations... or what seemed limiting to me after digging deep into AudioLayer and ESX24 imports from my Mac which offers dozens of great sampled instruments in the $30 MainStage app that are the same instruments available in the $200 Logic Pro X. I'd like to pull those in to Evolver if it would work. Great pianos and strings, etc for the taking... perfectly legal too.

  • I couldn't figure out how to import SFZs. Unfortunately, Chamleon doesn't do pitch detection like AudioLayer so as a Multisampler it's pain to use. I plan to use single samples and harmonics in Wavecycle, I mean EvolverFx. Lofi, baby.

  • I know if you long hold Help SF2 inport meant to be there haven’t tried it through that option as yet as still getting my head around the basics.

  • Again being too lazy to do extensive research I'll ask. How many presets doe the app ship with and
    are they compelling?

I'm also curious about the "now factor". Is the $10 price an intro price that will go up at some point?

Now and "out of the box" experience? Any clues? It looks old school and that's my territory so I'll buy in if the cost of entry will double soon.

  • so to lay out a sequence...
do you tap on the step, hit record , top program the step? i think i’m missing something lol

  • edited April 2020

i think i figured it out.
each sample ....s1 , s2, s3 etc corresponds automatically to the step number.

each step can have the same or different sample, and you decide how fast they fade and change into each other.

each step/sample also has effect options, adsr, vcf, etc...

apparently to have each or some sample slots with a multi sample, a sample with more samples lol is where you can strike gold

  • Hi friends
How can i import sf2 in to the EVOLVER fx ?

  • Hi
How can you transfer props prefs from one iPad to another ??
    Any Help is welcome
    Thank you !!!!!
